Prince Sigvald Returns To Lead Age Of Sigmar’s Slaanesh Armies
November 23, 2020 by brennon
Warhammer: Age Of Sigmar is getting a bit of a makeover. Well, one of its villains is getting a makeover at least. Prince Sigvald, one of the chosen of Slaanesh, is making his way back to the tabletop and rejoining the fight for the Mortal Realms at the behest of their master from Games Workshop.

He might not immediately look it, but Sigvald is probably one of the more fascinating Lords Of Chaos from The Old World now making his return to the Mortal Realms. Sigvald by Darius Hinks is a really darn good book which charts his progress as a character and got me really thinking about making an army of Slaanesh based around him back in the day.
Obviously, this new version of Sigvald returns having had something of a tweak. He still has the flowing hair, immaculate facial features and glittering armour but he also now sports those impressive horns which mark his ascension to a higher level. He bet a rather ignoble end when he got clobbered by Throgg after his battle with Krell and was promptly urinated on. One would think he is out for a slice of revenge now.
Sigvald's Slaanesh Retinue
As well as the Prince returning with much pomp and ceremony, he is also joined by some loyal retainers. If you like your glorious warriors to be extra sparkly then check out the Myrmidesh Painbringers.
Myrmidesh Painbringers // Age Of Sigmar
Armed with brutal scimitars and sculpted match the design of an old Slaanesh Chaos Lord figure, these miniatures are both a call back to The Old World and a reminder of the power that Slaanesh is now bringing to bear now Morathi has become distracted by her campaign against the forces of Order.
As well as the Painbringers, you can also call upon the power of the Symbaresh Twinsouls.

These mortals have shared their bodies with the many daemons of Slaanesh that stalk the land and have therefore gained a portion of their power in doing so. They have given themselves over to these hedonistic creatures and now seek to cause pleasure and pain in equal measure.
New Warhammer Underworlds Warband
Sticking with the theme of Chaos, we also got a look at another warband for use in Warhammer Underworlds. Here we have Khagra's Ravagers.
Khagra's Ravagers // Warhammer Underworlds
Helmed by two sisters, this warband is looking to desecrate the Direchasm and make their mark for the sake of their lord Archaon. With one sister being very focused on the martial side of things and the other working as a powerful sorceress, this set should provide you with some interesting tactical options.
Beyond use in Warhammer Underworlds, this would also be a really good way to start up a Warcry warband or maybe an entire army for Age Of Sigmar. I love the idea of forming a Slaves To Darkness force around this pair of sisters who have ascended through the ranks together in their pursuit of daemonhood.
Are you tempted by the Hedonites Of Slaanesh or these new Ravagers?

Ridiculous headdress guy aside I love all these models. Sigvald is a terrific update (his novel from a few years back is good too – a great telling of damnation).
even more cow-head guys? oO
double horned ones because one pair wasn’t enough and someone shouted :
needs more cow
😀
When i first seen the Prince I was Ooh a new Fulgrim he looks different.the chaos warriors are looking great.
I really like the Direchasm crew. Sigvald could do without the big horns in my opinion but I still like him an his friends.
Well those look really good.
Do like the Sigvald resulpt (a lot better than the old one that hasn’t aged very well over the years). Not sure on the big moo cow horns (is he secretly cosplaying as a high elf these days as they go all in as dressing up as a “furry” (just with a fixation on our bovine chums)
They’re love handles.
A bit OTT for me.
Slaanesh, prince of Excess can never be over the top!
Great to see some more carryover from classic Warhammer to AoS! Old faces getting a new and updated model are always welcome.
The other Slaanesh stuff is good, and is especially disturbing with those half-daemonette faces.
Khagra’s Ravagers will fit well in my Slaves to Darkness army! That sorcerer is AWESOME!
I have no interest in playing Age of Sigmar but damn, that Sigvald is one sexy dude! ?
I like the shields of the Myrmidesh Painbringers. — Not sure how much protection they’d provide, but nice designs.
Liking the Slaves to Darkness stuff too.
