Forge World Support The Legio Custodes With The Caladius Grav-Tank
October 25, 2016 by brennon
Forge World are expanding on the arsenal of the Legio Custodes with the Caladius Grav-Tank hitting the tabletop soon.
Available, as you can see above, from Warhammer World at their Open Day this will be a nice new addition to the collection of those loving the idea of running a Legio Custodes army.
You can see how the tank works out for scale here too...
It's fascinating seeing the Imperium using grav-technology, something which you just don't see when it gets to the period of Warhammer 40,000.
The hint from Forge World is that you'll be seeing more Legio Custodes hitting the tabletop soon too so watch this space.
What do you think of the Caladius?

imperial grav-tanks blasphemy send for the inquisitor’s.
would be great for the CHAOS forces.
Yeah, if it is legit 30k tech, the chaos legions should have them.
But Jump Packs were invented after the year 30,000, so chaos doesn’t get them (2nd ed codex) except Raptors who worship the minor chaos god of jump packs (3rd ed codex).
I’m so confused.
Landspeeders too- tech just wasn’t around in 30k, so chaos can’t have it (unless you play the 2nd ed Black Corsairs, since they defected to chaos recently).
I’m sorely tempted by this. It’s sci-fi enough for Gates of Antares or Warpath. I could also see using it as a massive ship for 15mm sci-fi games. If it came out in plastic I’d but 3 of them!
A little Tau influence there I think.
I’d say more eldar, since Tau weren’t known at that time: Anti-personnel weapon in the fork of the weapon, the anti-material weapon on a turret towards the top back and anti-grav lifted and propelled.
That tank is beautiful
That is very good looking grav-tank.
Now this truly looks Sci-fi that it could fit into many other games outside of 40K.
Which seems odd for the costodes. I’ve always thought they’d be like the Sisters of Battle- where they like their tanks super boxy and covered in the bones of saints and layers of reliquary.
Very sexy tank. Looks very different to the tanks of the Legions and the Army but still keeps the distinctive 30k skimmer look of the jetbikes and landspeeder. Nicely done.
I’m sure this is a callback to the deodorant hover tank (goggle this and it is the first hit)

is a picture of it with the old marines next to it.
Posted at same time not just me that saw that then.
Very cool tank. Plus going to be their own list ‘talons of the emperor’ come release of inferno. May not need a loyalist legion, also has a nice throw back to deodorant tank. How a Custodes fits in it is the only query.
Custodes are cool, the tank looks awesome. I don’t think the Custodes should be a stand-alone army though.
I don’t think they will be a stand alone army.
Are there really stand alone armies anymore?
Arn’t landspeeders grav?
Any chance of a grav throne that could carry the emperor into battle with them? or is that a bit wfb?
