Forge World Show Off Some Big Sci-Fi Guns
March 1, 2016 by brennon
Forge World have been showing off what's coming for the world of Warhammer 40,000 and the Horus Heresy. This time it's some big guns that will come attached to Dreadnoughts and fired from large vehicles...
First up we have this which is the Cyclonic Melta Lance. This will be strapped onto the arm of a Leviathan Dreadnought and is sure to be a deadly piece of technology that will turn vehicles to slag and people to pools of mush.
Following on from that they also showed off this huge piece of kit that was also at the Horus Heresy weekender...
As you can see it stands much bigger than a standard soldier and looks like you'd see a few of these set up behind the main battle line for taking down Titans (if they were enemy ones of course) and blasting apart other large vehicles. A rather insane piece of kit.
What do you think of their upcoming additions?

This is exactly what I thought too when I saw it. I love the idea of a Warhammer style ‘not railway gun’ tbh.
Might wait until the Victoria Miniatures one is released though, I’m sure it will be easier on the wallet! 😀
A little conversion work an that could certainly be used by historical war gamers to represent a rail mounted weapon.
Very nice.
I do enjoy Forgeworlds “go big or go home” philosophy.
thats always what i think when i see the prices they imagine up 😛 hillarious as always
Seems more of a theater weapon, not something you would use on a 4′ by 6′ table.
It’s complete overkill for a standard game but if you were playing Apocalypse across an 8’x4′ or 10’x4′ table and your opponent was fielding a few super-heavies then this would be sweet.
To me it does look like something that would be behind lines bombarting enemies from safe distance.
I know from the novels the mechanicus do take their toys out to war, but you could easily use it in missions where you’re defending an artillery position from being overrun.
Its actually a melee weapon with a 6″ range large blast, 4d6 scatter
love em especially the OTT melt gun.
First the ordinatus engines whats next Cyclops cannon, land train or maybe even the super heavy transport the leviathon. Retro weapons, GO MECHANICUM.
Picked up the melta lance at the HH Weekender so will be adding that to my dreadnought in the near future (other projects to finish first), but how could I resist not getting that? 🙂
