Bastian Cracks Orruk Heads! New Age Of Sigmar Pre-Orders
October 19, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop is refocusing on the Stormcast Eternals of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar for this week's pre-orders (going live on Saturday). You'll be able to lead your warriors of Order into battle with Lord-Commander Bastian Carthalos!

Bastian Carthalos is another of the mighty new leaders for the Stormcast Eternals, rocking into battle with a fearsome-looking hammer. Uskavar, as it is named, is there to crack heads. He is posed striding confidently into battle with quite the awesome cape blowing in the wind behind him. I really like the look of this figure and you can even mix things up with a full helmet for him and an alternative grip for the weapon.
The next of the miniatures we're going to be looking at is the Knight-Relictor.

His mace packs a punch but he also offers up the bones of martyrs to Lord Sigmar and can bolster your warriors with devout prayers to the God-King. This certainly adds that slightly more grimdark twist to the goings-on in the Mortal Realms doesn't it!
Next up, we have a load of units for the Stormcast Eternals. All of these warriors can be used to bolster your Battleline and offer up Thunderstrike variants of the existing Stormcast Eternals range from Games Workshop. We'll whizz through these as we have already seen many of them!
Praetors // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Annihilators // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Vanquishers // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Vigilors // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Vindictors // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Many of us already have access to the Vindictors and the Annihilators from the initial wave of releases but this expands things, allowing you to mix and match a lot of components and build the miniatures that you like. You won't be tied to a specific way of building each figure.
I really like this style of armour that they've gone for here. Don't get me wrong, I love the hulking miniatures we got initially but these provide you with neat alternatives and introduce a lot of different textures and materials into the mix. We've got faces for one, scalemail and plenty of flowing cloaks.
Orruk Warclans - Sneaky Stabbin'
As well as the Stormcast Eternals, the Orruk Warclans are getting a couple of new units. This, again, helps to build on the initial options presented in the Dominion set.
Man-skewer Boltboyz // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Man-skewer Boltboyz lead the way as cruel and dangerous hunters. Introduce these into your army if you're looking to punch a hole in Stormcast Armour and nail them to the ground. You could always be sneaky, like these fellows enjoy, and wound your foes before dragging them off into the swamps!
This is where the Hobgrot Slittaz come in. These pesky blighters have been working together with some strange, dark individuals who have given them access to explosives!
Hobgrot Slittaz // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Whilst they aren't going to stand up to a frontal charge by an angry Stormcast Eternal, they are pretty good at sneaking about, securing objectives and annoying your opponent. I like that we got these back in the Orruk Warclans collection as a reminder of Hobgoblins of old.
All of these miniatures are going to be available to pre-order this weekend!
Are you going to be snapping these up?

The stormcast minis start to look more and more like anime characters…
Nice figures the hobgrots are fabulously ugly looking.
Those Green Skins are solid all around but Sigmarines are as boring as ever. Not even that one with great looking beard gets me like them.
It’s Father Warhammer! He’s making a list and checking it twice!
Boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, NICE more orks!! These release pages should really start with the orcs and push the Stormcast down to the bottom, since everyone’s coming for the greenskins and not the boring fantasy-marines.
Why do they keep showing them in that boring gold armour.
You’d think they’d wanna show what kind of things you could do with the models, but they just keep representing them in the dulles ways possible.
I honestly can’t tell the difference between these and the ones they released when AoS first came out.
They have diffent weapons, I guess? And a cape?
