Adeptus Titanicus Levels Entire Cities With Its Arrival This Weekend
August 6, 2018 by brennon
Games Workshop will be putting Adeptus Titanicus up for pre-order on their webstore this weekend. This massive game of Titans and Knights battling each other across entire cityscapes is looking very snazzy indeed.
I could talk about what is inside the Grand Master Edition of the game although Games Workshop has provided a very nice infographic to do it for me...
As you can see the game comes with two of those stunning Warlord Titans which, for a lot of us, are going to be our only chance to own some of these walking fortresses. It's funny to see just how small Imperial Knights are compared to the traditional 28mm kits.
In addition to releasing the main box that you see above the team at Games Workshop will also be producing a set of plastic kits for both the Warlord Titan which you can see above and the Imperial Knights which you can check out below.
The kits will come with a massive array of weapon options and such which are there for those that want to start customising their massive walkers.
Rules & Terrain
For those who don't want to delve right into the Grand Master Edition of the game, they have also produced the Rules Set for the game as well.
In addition to that, you're going to need some terrain to help you make a good looking tabletop. So, you can also snap up the Civitas Imperiali Set which comes with a range of smaller scale buildings to match the scale of your Titans.
As you can see it all looks very nice indeed when next to these massive miniatures and shouldn't be too hard to paint up either. I would like to see just what John would do with these...
As you can see with a little bit of airbrush work these buildings will come together very nicely and then I think you could just work out a little bit of additional metallic work and they'd be ready to go.
Will you be diving into Adeptus Titanicus?

Well that does look rather good.
Well, it all just depends on the prices, doesn’t it. Used to love this game in its original version. Watched a game of the original at Claymore in Edinburgh last weekend. The titans were so small.
Oho, another Scotland-based gamer? Are you on GameFor by any chance?
Yep, I’m in Fife. What is GameFor?
Looking at the roofs of those buildings it seems like they are just the right fit to have a 6mm Epic Space Marine base on them… Could this be true? Otherwise would they not have made the roofs more “scenic”?
Okay I could be grasping at straws here but I am just sooo hoping to bring back Epic.
What do you guys think?
I agree they could be made to fit, but Specialist Games have stated they’re not looking to bring back epic any time soon, just focusing on the titans for the foreseeable future
“EPIC SPACE MARINE COMFIRMED!!!!” 🙂 😉
Thanks for the reply @kadoshim I guy can only hope 😛
I believe it has been said that while there are no plans to have troops or tanks in the game, they have said the rules have been written so that if things were introduced further down the line, the rules wouldn’t have to change (i.e it’s going to depend how successful the game is and whether it see’s expansions).
Therefore we all need to buy multiple copies of this to encourage GW to produce infantry and tanks!
I hope GW have been sensible about their pricing for this – I know it will be expensive, but I’m hoping for the grand master edition to be no more than £150
Consodering how coy they are with putting a price tag on this one i fear its around 300€.
Wouldnt be surprised if it comes at 350€.
Current “Confirmed Rumour”!!!!! doing the rounds is that it’s £175 for Grand Master edition. Not too bad a price in my opinion, if it turns out to be correct of course.
Correct, I have heard from a good third party retailer source that the price is £175 for the Grand Master, so with discount you’ll be able to get it around £140. Individual Warlords are £65, and the box of 3 Knights is approximately £20 (though I think it’ll be £22.50 or £25)
It looks nice but it’s also quite expensive – I think this one really is going to be a specialist game.
I’m not sure it’s going to do as well as the likes of Bloodbowl or Necromunda, the £175 asking price for the box is a pretty penny.
Apparently it’ll be a monthly release schedule after that, so we should see the Reaver and Warhounds quite soon afterwards.
Certainly worth the purchase at the discount price anyway. I wonder where they will go with the game once Reaver and Warhounds are out!!
Been looking forward to this since it was announced. I know they’ve said they’re going to keep the focus tight to avoid creep, but it’s interesting that the scale statistic gives space for them to go truly Epic with this.
These look so great. And it makes me want to make a 40k Army using them. The Knights as Terminaters? or some Primarius SM. Warhounds as either Bikes or some Primarius Jump Pack. And the Reaver as some version of the Dreadnought. It would be glorious and most likely out of my budget, if I buy it all at once.
I have all the epic stuff I could want from when I started in the hobby in the early 90s, but if these matched the old scale that temptation would have been there.
When I saw the price, I was very glad the scales don’t match, because that price is insane. £175 and you only get 8 models and some buildings? I know they’re nice, and much better than the original Adeptus Titanicus models, but wow.
I’m very thankful this is not aimed at me, that’s all I can say.
Nice models, but the price is absolutely insane.
Looks kinda boring TBH. Play would be limited without tanks and infantry and other goodies. Also hideously expensive.
I don’t know what drove them to increase the scale so drastically resulting in the rumored high price. 290 USD for the grand master edition with just two titans is just nuts. No weapon options at all, so you get a game with no variability, very few models and some terrain for a price where you could buy several complete games. And to make things even worse rumors also tell that there is only limited stock available with a re-print coming next year.
There are also other issues I have with the game. Without infantry or sensible buildings there is no real reference for the scale of the titans. I mean, what nonsense are these doors on the buildings that are the size of a knight? It makes it very hard to get a feel for the size of these machines. Another drawback of the enormous models is the resulting lack of possible space for movement and weapon ranges that don’t feel right. So you either need a huge table or will have reduced movement and ridiculously short weapon ranges.
In the latest White Dwarf(p44) it says that a full sized game would have 4 or 5 titans plus a banner(?) of knights per side. Could be very pricey.
Models are nice, bar lack of weapon options in the kit. Personally they are oversized for what I would want (Big models for a side game). Price point, I just don’t see the value – also not offer the standard box savings if prices I have seen are right.
Not one for me, I can pick up a new starter army for bolt action desert, and the lotr box for less
amazing. I’m guessing the Grand Master edition is going to be super expensive. It would be nice to know what plans they have for this game. How will it be supported/expanded?
the titans look brilliant for their scale.
GW is really on a stride making stuff right. Looks awesome.
Looks great, but I can’t keep up with GW lately! I have Renegade and Kill Team both barely built or painted (not to mention the rest of the backlog) so doubt I will be getting in on this anytime soon.
So, at £175 for the GM edition…, with individual Titans at £58.50 each… I am afraid I think I’ll leave this be. I like Epic, but mainly for the teeny tiny tanks and a game focused on Titan-only combat for me isn’t cracking it at that sort of price. The AT Warlord Titans are a smidge smaller than the 40k Knights, with the AT Knights being Space Marine sized. It just doesn’t hit the buttons for me. I think I’ll pass. A mate of mine is going for the rules-only set with an idea to reusing his extensive collection of… Read more »
I wonder what the price is in euros
The number I saw was 230 Euro’s for the GM edition. It might be less than this though but it will be likely around the 200 mark regardless.
Confused about this. £175 OK? Apparently the box is twice the size of the standard.. the contents? How can one tell if it is worth this cost or not without a sense of scale? I am not convinced the pics with dice etc are “to scale” ?
Mix this with Monsterpocalypse? lol
