Just wondered about this recently. The mini’s were ( are ) beautiful ( and @warzan loved his Pigmen back in the day ) but it looks like the game never took off over here and failed to get a foothold in the market.I checked the CMON site and it’s still for sale, was it just a lack of distribution / stocking over here that led to it sliding off the radar ?

It’s certainly suffered from terrible distribution issues in the UK/Europe (there have been at least 3 different distributors since the KS) and was always pretty expensive, but it’s not been much better in the US with CMON distributing it themselves with few places to get it online other than CMON,

The attempted re-boot with the second book ran into problems (I think stock didn’t arrive from china when expected so what limited promotion CMON had done for it went nowhere) and on black Friday 2017 most of the line was available for 80% off (with the exception of some of the new book 2 stuff that had arrived in the warehouse for the first time only just before),

this stuff tricked out over the following year ), but by black Friday 2018 all of the Wrath of Kings range was 80% off and the official website hasn’t been updated since the end of 2017 so it very much looks like we’re not going to see anything further from it any time soon (a real shame)

to be fair to them their 2017 accounts show mini games (wrath of Kings + Dark age + maybe mini games stuff from their store?) only accounted for 0.9% of their revenue compared to 97.7% for boardgames

and with their Game of Thrones licence I don’t think they’re going to risk any more money/time of WoK or Dark Age)

Very true.It is a damn shame though,i loved the Celestial animals in particular and always did think they had a lot of beautiful mini’s across the factions.

There’s an online community for it, if somewhat small and most US-focused. Unfortunately the game is barely available regularly outside the US without having to deal with potential imports. Dark Age suffers from a similar problem.

This was the very reason I didn’t back the project, saw the lack of continued support from CMON coming a mile away. CMON has a tendency to dump stuff on the market in 1-3 waves and then cut any further support, Rivet Wars, Wraith of Kings, Seditions Wars, SMOG universe, Cadwallon universe and I suspect aSoIaF in the near future as well all suffered the same faith.
