Been working on a Kill Team. Not quite finished yet but getting there. Intend on putting up an actual project for this and future Kill Teams soon.
Murder Pack Ulfnir
Lead by :
Ulfnir Shadowpelt – Reiver Sergeant (Leader)
Specialists :
Tarl Rawthroat – Intercessor Sergeant (Combat)
Valnar Axegrin – Intercessor Gunner (Demolitions)
Erik Skarssen – Intercessor (Sniper)Non Specialists :
Hathor Firemane – Reiver
Sven Redsnow – ReiverAs you can see, I’ve gonna for a darker Pre-Heresy grey. The 2 non Specialist Reivers have had their knives removed and Iron Breaker Dwarf axes added instead. Erik Skarssen (Intercessor Sniper) has had an Iron Breaker shield attached to his power pack and Valnar Axegrin (Intercessor Grenadier) has a marauder leather mask on instead of a helm in reference to Abnett’s Prospero Burns novel.

Finished up Galladoria Game’s 2018 Mimic Collectible.
For the snow, I used INSTAR paint’s frost IV-05 paint, followed by Coarse Texture Gel and Army Painter snow.

December 16, 2018 at 9:37 pm #1314529I’ve had a productive weekend. I finished off my Atlantis Miniatures Forest Troll. The mini, the flock, the tufts, and the resin base decorations all came as part of an AssetDrop Monster Box, along with the paints I used to paint his flesh. It was a very nice kit:
I also made good progress on the Bonescon event exclusive pirates from the past 3 years and the Deadzone Mercs I have on my desk:
I also got a little building and priming done. Here we have the Gloomhaven Sunkeeper, Bushido’s Kenta Takeshi (Damn those swords are thin and bendy!), and a kitbashed Iron Priest for the Space Wolves. He was made from a random bits box I got second hand, and is the test piece for an army I got him with. I don’t know 40k iconography or lore so if you do and you feel like being helpful please pop over to my project and take a look at him from all sides and tell me if you see anything wrong before I do too much work on him.
I also assembled and primed my next Monster Box project, 3dartdigital’s Orc Warlord v2.0. The heads and weapons are designed to be magnetised to swap. The kit comes with magnets and has holes in the plugs on the joins predrilled for the magnets. There were no mould lines and the only clean up I needed to do was to remove a little flush from around those plugs on areas that will never be seen. It is a wonderful kit, even if it does claim to be a 28mm scale model Orc who is almost 6cm/2.5″ tall. The moster box also supplied this interesting resin base from Serious Play Scenics:

December 17, 2018 at 2:06 am #1314560December 17, 2018 at 9:09 am #1314604I have recently been painting a lot of 32mm vehicles from the Kore range. I have been asked by Kore to paint a full set for their webstore and for them to take to conventions and shows. I think I was asked because I was a very active member of their Facebook Group. Anyway, I agreed to do it for them and these are some of my favourites.
The method behind most of these has been very simple because my intention at the start was to find a very quick way of painting them that would look great at a normal viewing distance of 3′-4′, which is generally how they will be viewed during a game. So they’re all colour primed, the panels have been lined with a darker colour, details picked out in metal and the windows painted using a quick wet blend to create a gradient. The vehicles were then given a gloss varnish to both protect them and give them the shiny finish that most cars have. The gloss varnish I think has turned out to be a master stroke. They’re not going to win any awards but they do look convincing on the tabletop. Probably perfect for something like Walking Dead All Out War.
December 17, 2018 at 11:13 pm #1314941I’ve decided to start a new project of painting individual marines in different chapter colours.
