November 18, 2018 at 1:22 am #1303253Advice request:
Might spend my Mantic points on this fella.
Not sure how big he is, but think he looks a touch bigger than the average plague marine.
He is metal. Happy to chop and change the right arm, but the left arm looks more awkward. If you were converting him to try to fit in to 40k what would you do and what weapons would you end up giving him?
November 18, 2018 at 4:54 am #1303286Finishing up a little d&d commission this weekend. Here’s some pictures of the direwolf. If you would like to see some more of my d&d miniature work check out my project log.
November 18, 2018 at 8:19 am #1303304Stuff I have cleared off my painting bench in the last week and a half.
A squad of British Dragoons for Sharp Practice:
A box of Perry Foot Knights for use as Bretonnians in Oldhammer games, or for Kings of war Empire of Men, or for actual historicals games…
And some Fireforge Foot Sergeants to accompany the above knights on their adventures:
Am working on putting a dent in the pile of shame, I promise!…

He will be their character in a upcoming campaign. I was also told the campaign was going to be streamed. So it will be pretty cool for me to see some of my work on the stream. Hope you all enjoy.
November 18, 2018 at 1:19 pm #1303426Hey all 🙂
awesome work as ever on here;
@milmaa nice work on those space wolves.. I like their dark tone
@dawfydd looking good… always nice to see some beaky marines. Like the poses you’ve gone for
@tanath are they from the Game of Thrones range? Look cool. I like your basing
@dugthefug1644 sorry I know nothing about 40k rules and weapon allocation, but the mini you’re thinking of getting looks great and you should get regardless. ?
@chaosgorka that wolf look awesome. I think the basing lets it down a little though. Could maybe do with some pebbles or rocks?
Love the dapper ork ? the green skin and purple accents contrast beautifully with the matt black suit. Good work
@evilstu always love seeing troops ranked up like this and yours look superb! Great work man ??
@laughingboy very nice! Some lovely painting there man. Particularly like your scenic pic with the gantry … very cool
@caledor2 nice job man. The robes came out great
@recon63 looking good. What are you thinking basing wise?
As for me, I’m pleased to say I finished my diorama
Loads more pics on the project page
November 18, 2018 at 4:54 pm #1303506Fallschirmjäger 7.5cm Gebirgsjagerkanone 36.
Last piece for my Crete FJ. AB Figures crew with a Shellhole Scenics gun.
November 18, 2018 at 5:04 pm #1303508@brushstroke not sure about basing as I can never get the bases to do justice to the minis. As always mate your work is flawless, and brilliant !!
November 19, 2018 at 3:26 am #1303710Finished off the painting portion of the 4ground dwarf and got it matte varnished. Next up will be the base, eventually, and some proper shots from a little further away. Although the phone isn’t great for colour reproduction, largely because I never hold the miniature in the light the same way, it does give me closer shots than I would normally take so I can see all the various areas I might try to improve on. This one was the last bit currently of my experiment with a different faster painting technique, my next step will be to try and keep the speed increase (granted this isn’t a high bar to step over with me) while finding a way to make the transitions smoother in the first couple of steps so as to make the final glazing and detailing steps more efficient and get…well smoother transitions 🙂 I’ll be putting some of the intermediate pictures up in the project, hopefully sometime this evening, here https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1300263/
And in a shocking turn of events I actually managed to get the half squad of EDF heavies from Albedo not only assembled but zenith primed. I went with a black-grey as the base instead of pure black this time around to see if this might make the initial stages a little easier while keeping some of the advantages of bothering with pre-shading. I guess I’ll see.
