Okay time to start showing some work in progress images also and not just finished models like I used to do. 🙂 This is what I am working on right now.
I am building a small fantasy village from a couple of 4Ground houses, as you can see in the image below, the two houses on the left are almost done with some small personal touches. I really like these houses, the only thing I am adding to them are custom made roofs in foam and some foliage to make them look old. I also go over them with a personal paint job. Really satisfied with the result! 😀
I also started painting these minis:
a wizards desk by Russian company Tiny Furniture and the druid is from the Zombicide Black Plague Paul Bonner set, but with a customized warhammer head. I thought the head was too small to match my other 28mm minis.
November 12, 2018 at 11:30 am #1300435More Fallout Wasteland Warfare. This time I painted up some of the PVC models that aren’t covered in other core sets(still waiting for my Resin Starter Set). Also have been working on some Black Site Studios scatter terrain which I’ve used as a backdrop.
Here’s the Terrain by itself:
And finally a comparison shot of the Resin figures compared to the PVC Nora on the right. You can tell the detail is softer but and the terrain doesn’t respond as well to drybrushing, but it still looks fine on the tabletop.
November 12, 2018 at 12:46 pm #1300471Haven’t posted on WAYPN for ages…
working on elves of different persuasion.
Old GW High Elves
Experimenting on metal GW Witch Elves different skin types: Drow/Black, Grey, Pallid. Still need work though.
November 12, 2018 at 2:01 pm #1300512Started another small project on my Wild West Lawmen Starter of Wyatt and Doc. Decided to try a Judge Dredd color scheme. Goal is black, red, blue, gold with some Green for belts and straps.
Base coats down.
November 12, 2018 at 5:04 pm #1300615@silverstars those fallout minis and the setting are gorgeous, very well linked with the fallout aesthetic. I almost got into fallout but my plastic mountain was already too much.
@eddieholt im looking forward to seeing some more of those Brits, he is looking a bit lonely at the moment!
November 12, 2018 at 6:02 pm #1300631Getting back to WAYPN and painting Middle-Earth stuff.
Gandalf the White on Shadowfax:
November 12, 2018 at 10:14 pm #1300761My Prussians get some more paint. The end is slowly coming into sight.
November 12, 2018 at 10:53 pm #1300792Part of the latest commission that I should have done within the next couple of hours. Its a skeletal knight from the Wizkids licensed D&D Nolzur line. I didn’t see it on their site the last time I looked but it was a recent purchase by my buddy who I paint for. Overall playing with the weathering effects for creating the rusted copper has been fun. I need to start do into rusting the knight’s armor and sword before I kick in the highlights and finish out other remaining details.
November 13, 2018 at 2:30 am #1300873Update the project log (look it’s an actual link now) https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1300263/ with the steps and the completed veermyn model I used to continue learning about the “shaded base coat” technique. As I mention at the end, the base is kinda messy but I had to unstick myself by that point.
Also since this is a “what are you painting *now*” thread I should mention I’m starting in on some Albedo miniatures. There’s a kickstarter running for a few more days (seriously go pledge, I need more stretch goals!) and I just got an order in of the first part of the range they’ve added to their store. Anthropomorphic creatures, which are all the rage right now as they should be, in a serious scifi skirmish game. The models are quite nice, here are some I’m currently removing/hacking the tabs from. So I guess not so much painting now as hopefully one day painting soon. 🙂
And now back to catching up on the thread before sleep jumps me…
November 13, 2018 at 3:06 am #1300874Continued painting on my druid today that is from the Zombicide Black Plague Paul Bonner set, but with a customized warhammer head. Still work in progress, got some dry brushing and details left.
November 13, 2018 at 8:37 am #1300935Did a little project for myself recently. A gelatinous cube. This one is from the wizkids line.
November 13, 2018 at 10:02 am #1301004Just finished this gal, as a Tzeentch cultist for a 10 man/woman/thing Necromunda/inq28 cult.
November 13, 2018 at 2:17 pm #1301127I just finished up a 3D print a Fallout 4 semi truck this weekend and have plans to make some army truck variants for my BOS force.
For more Fallout related 3d print goodness here :https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1240331/
Finish the 2 semi trucks in US Army color ready to be commandeered by the Brotherhood.
November 13, 2018 at 3:34 pm #1301206I finally finished my Ork project on Monday. Here’s the last of the models. Please see my project for more photos and Orks.
Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun. I do not see how anyone can carry such a large gun. Even at that scale it weighs a lot!
Wartrakk Skorcha. The tank cannot be made to fit on the base sadly so it remains a separate part.
Warboss on Warbike with home made banner. That used to be an amazon gift card
Wartrakk with Twin big Shoota
And here’s my next project, awaiting priming this weekend.
Thats a Gorax Rager and 7 Griffons for Hordes, a Griffon for Mythic Battles: Pantheon, and the Sawbones for Gloomhaven. Doing these Hordes minis completes my 2018 pledge. Gonna have to start the post for 2019 pledges soon.
November 13, 2018 at 6:28 pm #1301283Now I have painted my druid that I put together from the Zombicide Black Plague Paul Bonner set, but with a customized warhammer head. ? Really happy with the result. Used two different leaf punchers from Green Stuff World to make the leafs.
