Knocked out these 5 bits of terrain during the xlbs this morning, I guess the new format at least let’s you crack on with something.

Used filler foam, rattle cans of a chocolate brown and then zenith with a light grey, dry brushed off white then airbrushed some shade in places. Looks ok.

maybe better control of the filler foam next time.

Hello everyone. I took a hiatus from the hobby but now i’m back. I hope i’ll be able to get back on commenting on all of your amazing work again.

At the moment i’m working on an idea that i just couldn’t get our of my head thanks to the upcoming orctober. The Warchanter from the Ironjawz-range from GW to me looks like he could be hiting on one of those giant oriental drums … so i just had to try and build me one of those. And since i had to order the warchanter himself and he isn’t here yet i worked on the drum a bit more.

    Here’s what i started with:

    DSCF0685

From there i managed to build this:

    DSCF0686DSCF0687

After hitting it with a bit of paint:

At the moment i’m working on the waaagh-energy seeping through all the seams with every drum beat:

oh and a quick size comparison with one regular infinity mini and a primaris space marine:

Another squad of the Death Strike Marines arrives. This time a Devastator squad of the 2nd Company. The fleet has also completed fixing their Drop pod bays on their Strike Cruiser, the Zarathustra, so the Death Strike can now conduct their lightning fast deployments that they are famed for.
    68 Infantry, 1 Walker, 3 Vehicles complete.
    Lots more to go.

I’ve made some progress on my 80’s Orks.  I’ll update my project soon. (https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1227839/#snav)

So now I need some help picking the colours to go with.  The goal here was to paint them in line with the current GW scheme on their web shop, but to maintain all their character.  I’ve painted all the black I can on them without making them completely monochrome.  Weapons, blades, and armour plates will be dirty metal.  Undershirts and their sleeves will be off-white.  I’m even hoping to have the courage to try adding check patterns.  This still leaves some large cloth surfaces I need to find something to do with.  I’m thinking of embracing Colourz and painting them blue or red or yellow, scattering a mix of these colours around all the orks.  It’ll help break up the green tide, and give me an extra way to make similar sculpts look different.  I’m just a little afraid it may overpower the models, and make those without the colours look out of place.  I can try to add spots of colour to everyone though which will hopefully tie everything together.

Here are 3 examples of what still needs a decision making on.  Anyone any opinions or alternate suggestions?  I’m hoping to be paitning them tomorrow evening.

Also, if anyone has some spare Lascannons for a Land Raider or a Predator tank please let me know.  I also have just the body for Abaddon the Despoiler in need of all the other parts, either with me or in the hands of whoever has them. I’m fixing up some more old stuff I got my hands on over here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1267979/#snav

A speedy job on a starter force for my sons after school 40k club.

About 10 hours start to finish and very repeatable as the force grows.
