September 2, 2018 at 10:19 am #1261387Hi everyone ?
Just wanted to share my amazing news with you all. I’m thrilled that my Lord of the Rings Corsair galley, which I built for Armies on Parade last year and won me a Hobby God bag here on Beasts of War, has made it into an official GW rule book for the new Middle Earth box set!!
Can’t believe it ?

September 3, 2018 at 8:40 pm #1262014September 4, 2018 at 2:33 pm #1262307I’ve just had a week off work with the intention of repainting some Dropzone Commander Scourge I bought on eBay so they match my scheme, and sinking my teeth in to my Ork Project (https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1227839/#snav). Then my friend organised 3 days of Gloomhaven for the Bank holiday weekend, and my 2-3 hours of Babysitting turned in to 2 days, and it was the annual Blood and Oil tournament for Warmachine this past weekend. My 10 days of painting became 3.5 days with an hour here or there, and I accidentally started a few other projects along the way. Here’s my progress:
Dropzone Commander Scourge:
Gloomhaven side project I didn’t intend to ever paint, but people complained they couldn’t tell the minis apart from across a table:
Ork progress to date. Theres around 50 Orks to paint so visit my project (Link above) for more info:
I also got asked to build the organisers for Gloomhaven. The owner thought he could assemble it between games. He has clearly never worked with MDF and PVA before. Here’s a snapshot of every available flat surface in my house for the next few days. There is more than this:
I also started a unit of Warpwolves shortly before my week off, and now blitzing them is my priority as I’ve run out of working space:
Anyway, that’s enough of that. Hopefully I’ll finish the wolves this weekend and get back to work on the Orks. I have Orks on every available flat surface right now. They’re everywhere! (well, everywhere there isn’t MDF boxes drying).

September 4, 2018 at 8:03 pm #1262388Completed a long time project this weekend, a desert type gaming table. I consist of four 60x60cm squares that might be used for desert Frostgrave, Shadespire (that is the game I started to build it for) and similars.. 🙂
The intention is to add some terrain like houses/ruins and so on too keep it flexible. Below is the beginning of a city…
I scratch built a wrecked house, using among other things Hirst Arts blocks.
Some pieces are mounted on removable inserts, so that I can use the most basic boards for different settings. The border between the pieces can be covered using loose gravel of the correct colour.
..and there is a secret cellar in the city as well, which can be used for different scenarios.
