Karak stone, my misstake. No, no wash or drybrush, I have not felt the need to wash it and the selective highlighting takes the place of the drybrush, so I suppose one can take the variant one likes the most.
Another thing I have experimented with is to add red tea to the “clean dirt” to give it some additional texture. The red tea seems to have some small twigs in it which, again, helps break up the symmetry. 🙂
Making some good progress with my Great Red the last few days.
Cleaned and pinned awaiting reassembly with new green stuff spines and tooth
Always felt it should have had spines between the wings as well so I took the opportunity to add a couple as well as plug some of the older gaps
A few shades of Mephiston red and its almost like new.
Now the the hard bit, details & direction. Leaning towards the Jeff Easley painting this model is based on but will give it a few days to chew on.
Another D&D commission finished up. I am really enjoying painting all of these characters and monsters helps brake up the monotony of painting armies.
So after finishing up a painting competition over on B&C, I’ve really gotten my painting mojo back and with the new LotR starter set coming out I’ve been digging out some of my old minis to get a head start.
First up Legolas:
I’ve also started on some Rohan warriors, hopefully by the time the new box set comes out ill already have a reasonably sized force.
And finally for some of the bad guys
My Banshees. Still early days yet. Would love to hear peoples thoughts:
Basecoats on the Joker. Still a Long Way to go:
Quick question re the projects. Do we have 1 project thread or do we start multiple threads with different projects?
@yogiebear whatever you like! I tend to have one per army / game system. Some people do it per miniature for special models.
@mage I use the Plastikote clear Matt sealer. Never had a problem with it before but then never used it in the heat/humidity that we’ve had recently. I think I will try and paint on some thin matt varnish and see if that corrects the fogging.
Split between so many projects at the moment but have made some progress on my night haunt and plan to do some more today.
I painted this, Lady Guinevere, for my lovely wife and now I need to get the rest of Footsore’s Arthur figures as they are lovely.
Been painting this guy, just to get a little break from my death guard.
The even stole my chair ?
Been working on my Warlord Dads army miniatures… not the best but im seeing improvement on past models. My darker skin tones are horrible though:
