Time to update the projects again it seems! First mini of 2021 all finished!!!

    Meowgelior 7

Gorgeous wee mini from Scalebro.com called Meowgelior. Painted him up on twitch over the space of a few streams.  More photos for those who are interested here

A bigger project that has stretched from last year into this is a large display piece for a 72mm model called Hamelin The Bard of Twilight from Kimera.
    IMG_5726
Hamelin himself is about 80odd% done now but tis time to turn my hand to making a base for him and his 4 wee rascally friends.
Work on the base is coming along and its a bigger. the wooden base measures 120mm x120mm on top and this is where its at now:

I’ve gone into detail and shown/explained all the steps and materials to this point

And there’s more….. but of course there is!

Mini #2 of 2021 to be finished was/is the Dragon Sacrifice from KDM Death High.

KDM - Death Dragon Sacrifice 1

Not finished or even near to it is the rather sad Lion Knight 1st also from KDM

    IMG_5723IMG_5720

The Lion Knight himself is nearly done but the Wailing Smoke base  still has a long way to go!
    More KDM here

Finally, no really….. A model from Judgement that got finished up last year is Zaron Bogden the necromancer which we did as a paintalong over on Twitch.  54mm scale model and a real beaut to work on

    Zaron 1

This year I once again told myself not to start a new project without finishing at least few nearly finished ones first, and so I picked up some things I’ve been working on last few months and within a week I had two of them finished. This felt so good that I even started working on an even older project again and I feel like doing much more of the WIP’s. (hope to hold on to this feeling for a little while).

First one I finished is a mini based on my favourite artwork from the ShadowSea rulebook, the Flying Horror, a fantastic re-animated construct for the Order of Yosoth. This is a resin 3D-print from their previous kickstarter-campaign.

    fh2fh1fh4fh3fh5

Second one I finished is a larger one, a lovely scenery piece for DeepWars, the Underwater Ruins.
This one was printed on an Ender 5 pro and most airbrushed apart from the barnacles, corals and little creatures.
I really love how these colours turned out.
The large ruins are about 24cm high.

THE EMPEROR PROTECTS ~ SERAPHIM COMPLETE

I can’t even begin to explain how proud I am of these five models right here. Every single guide and model I’ve painted up to now have been combined and put into practise on these five ladies. Heat effects on weapons and jump packs, wet blending on the power sword. Fully home made flying bases. These five flying beauties are without a doubt my all time greatest hobby achievement. Not just because of how they’ve come out but also because of what the represent.

I started this project with the goal of getting my limited edition Adepta Sororitas box set painted and the Seraphim mark the completion of that goal. I’m gonna be posting a full army shot very soon but first I’ll be applying decals across the board. So does that mean this project is coming to a close. Errrrrm I’ll reveal all next post but you can be sure my pile of shame will tell you otherwise.

Here’s to more of this wonderful hobby in 2021.

I have started painting a baby Yoda Grogu. I am really obsessed with the Mandalorian series and waiting for the new seasons to watch them sitting on my chair, drinking wine and enjoying this fascinating show.

Your efforts payed off bigtime mate !

I remember the test Sister you posted here some time ago and its great to see you having gone through with the project. Its such a good feeling to tackle milestones to ones satisfaction isnt it ?

I take from your words you didnt make painting these minis easy on you and I love your mindfulness about the thing.

Looking forward to see your artists journey continue.

    @yoshi

What a lovely comment Thankyou so so much mate. It genuinely feels great. I’ve not had a playable army fully painted since I was a lot younger. Probably 2nd edition 40K and back then it was a single thick coat of Humbrol Enamel haha. There’s definitely a mindfulness to it too. This projects taken me through lockdown which has been pretty tough as I’m a wedding photographer. Along with the whole pregnancy of my mrs and now finished after the birth of my kid. Haha. It’s been the one constant in all this craziness. So it actually means a lot. Jeez talk about attaching emotion to plastic soldiers haha. Thanks again dude ?

THE EMPEROR PROTECTS ~ PROJECT GOAL COMPLETE

    I ONLY BLOODY DID IT

    *****

It has taken over a year to complete but I finally finished painting my Limited Edition Sisters Box minus the 3 Arco Flagellants which I’ll do a big squad of at some point. Chuffed to finally have a little fully painted force. I mentioned in the forums that this army is my first fully painted army since i was a kid. Plus back then it was a case of slapping on one thick coat of Humbrol & calling it a day.

This project has made me a far better painter, far more enthusiastic for my hobby & just absolutely addicted to Sisters of Battle. I’m honoured that so many of you have followed along on this journey. As a wedding photographer lockdown has had a big impact on me plus I recently had a baby boy. It sounds silly but these little plastic ladies have been the one constant in the craziness of the last 365 days. So…. With my goal complete what’s next….Errrrm let me show you.

    TOWER OF SHAME

    *****

Here’s a picture of my tower of shame. Is this the end of this project log? Hell no! In fact it’s only just started. I’m going to be moving into the next stages of bulking out my Sisters force. I’ll be sharing army lists, more painting tutorials & of course more badass photos with you lovely lot so stay tuned. See those two rhinos on the top of mount nunaliscious. Those bad boys are next. YES!

Again I can’t thank you enough for been along for the ride.

See you on the next one.

    Much Love
