July 4, 2018 at 11:55 am #1224309Welp, I’ve been working on Knights. Previously I’d shown a little work on my Warglaives but then I picked up a pair of Helverins. Got them built and primed with Army Painter Plate Metal silver.
The Warglaives are already a couple of layers ahead. They had a Nuln Oil wash followed by a drybrush of Leadbeltcher, then Runefang Steel. After that, a heavy wash of Agrax Earthshade was applied. Once dry, I drybrushed with Leadbeltcher, then Runefang Steel again.
Now, the Helverins have had their heavy wash of Nuln and will get their drybrushes tonight and probably the Agrax too. Once they are at the same place as the Warglaive, I’ll start moving forward with the four of them together. I’ll be going for House Hawkshroud as I think an army of bright yellow Knights with bluesteel trim would look the knackers on the tabletop. I’ll likely put up a project up for this army soon.
July 4, 2018 at 12:43 pm #1224344Last Days Zombie Apocalypse has inspired me to buy some new minis and finally paint this Footsore mini I got at Salute.
In the rules I have classed him as a Soldier, and given him a back story of being a homeless US veteran. Walked past 100 times before the apocalypse, but suddenly everyone’s friend now his old training makes him a great person to be around when horror unfolds.
July 4, 2018 at 1:08 pm #1224396So I painted the miniatures from the Fallout board game.
Then I touched up the old Dark Emissary and Truthsayers and AoS’ed their bases. (sometimes you can’t help but wonder if you shouldn’t have just strip the models).
I’ve also been trying to decide on colours for an Fyre Slayers for Shade Spire but they are just at the base colour stage.
And with the release of the new AoS box set I decided I’d make a start on the previous set (‘sigh’).
July 4, 2018 at 1:17 pm #1224415Just finished the third Block of my 500p painting challenge. For all the pics check out the project: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1223150/
This time around I painted my Grand Master, a Techmarine and two Dreadnoughts. As with the entire army these are really old models and a lot of conversion work went into them (not so much the Grand Master).
C&C much appreciated. Especially on the power weapon lighting on the Techmarine and Grand Master. @lancorz didn’t liked it that much on the last batch of Terminators and I tried to improve it this time around.
July 4, 2018 at 4:03 pm #1224542Finally got back to work on my collection of Wolsung minis. I finished up the last of my Ash and Oak starter set and have started a Project Blog about my journey into this highly entertaining game. Now onto Lady Quimby and her monocycle.
July 4, 2018 at 7:19 pm #1224621July 4, 2018 at 7:21 pm #1224622In an earlier post the movement tray had just gotten the gravel and soil added using PVA. What happened next was that it was airbrushed black/white, followed by Earth from GameAir. The rocks were picked out using GW Karnak Stone followed by tufts (Armypainter and Gamers Grass) and also the small bush was added using clump foliage and superglue.
This is halfway through the last step, the white blobs are PVA to which static grass is being added. Let dry and shake off. Below is the completed movement trays.

July 4, 2018 at 10:04 pm #1224820Here’s the latest addition to my Burrows and Badgers crew, an angry Scots Ferret! I experimented with the tartan on this one and I have laid out all the steps I used in my project here
July 5, 2018 at 8:59 am #1225008Completed the Numidian light horse from Victrix.
I have used LBMS transfers for the shields and overall tried to give them a “skirmishy” feel. When I designed the movement trays it was with the hope they would convey that these troops don’t charge into you, but rather ride past you and throw their javelins. The idea was that two bases combined would form a Cantabrian circle, which is a well known ancient skirmishing tactic. I must admit that I was very pleased with how it looked when completed as I think it kind of captures the movement of the troops.
