Got the metals down on the characters and Wolf  Guard Termies, and I’m digging how they are coming together. Next step will be tidying up then hitting them with good old Agrax. The various blades will then get a frost effect, but all that is going to be next weekend

To go with my Dust 1947 Luftwaffe army I decided to add some more units but keep the Luftwaffe theme. Here are some Laser Grenadiers of the 22nd Field Division. A “historical” division that was never deployed, the division is made up of ground support personnel surplus to Luftwaffe needs due to serious losses of aircraft. Deployed mostly in defensive roles the fought the SSU on the eastern front and then against the Allies following the First Invasion of France. Most fared badly. With the increasing integration of VK technology and the resurgence of the Luftwaffe flying corps, most field divisions were disbanded and returned to their former roles. A few, like the 22nd, were retained as the survivors were, by now, veterans. Priding itself as being in the forefront of technology, the Luftwaffe equips a high proportion of the 22nd Field Division with lasers; so many in fact that the whole division sports the White Skull insignia.

    Some more Dwarves:

    Fools 001

I’m rather impressed with these guys, I think I finished them in less time than the miners, even though they’re almost twice the unit size.

    Fools 002

Either way, they were done in one day, not counting the priming done yesterday and the night before.

    Fools 003

And to think just by looking at them, no one would even know they were violated with yellow prim… oops.

Those look good  , and I won’t mention the yello…  hey , I think I have a couple of these guys somewhere . And I do mean only a couple – 2 . What did you do to get the armor looking  that way ? Black primer , dry brush  steel , gun metal , and what brand ? I tried to do mine and they ended up looking  like soup tins minus the labeling , shiny almost . Oh the shame

I airbrushed all the Skull pass Dwarves with AV game color black (which led to its own, now resolved, little drama) and edged highlighted (and sometimes drybrushed) with GW Celestial Grey, I’m kind of getting pretty sick of Celestial Grey at the moment.

I painted the chainmail (and other metallic parts) Leadbelcher. Posting these photos I realized I forgot, again, to photograph the back of the models (just like the miners) but you’re not missing much.

I tried to shade the chainmail with Nuln oil and highlight the warrior’s weapons and shields with Runefang Steel, but I don’t think they made any noticeable difference.

The beards and hair were drybrushed AV Scrofulous Brown, or rather I tried to drybrush them that color, but Scrofulous Brown was runnier than the Nuln oil, even right out of the bottle. Like with the Miner champion, I drybrushed the bottom of his beard Celestial Grey. The faces were done with GW’s Bugman’s Glow, then a little dab of Kislev Flesh, to make sure the highlight showed in the pictures.

So, My current project is Chain of Command using 15mm figures. I am using Peter Pig minis as I have a number left over from an old project.

    My current force is:

4 8-man infantry squads (4-man rifle team, 3-man MG team and a commander)

3 2pdr Anti-tank guns (3 man crew on base and additional 2 crew)

2 2″ mortars (2 men on one base)

    1 Boyes Anti-tank rifle team

1 high commander (possibly level 3)

    coc brits 1

Well… time to start painting. If I glue many more, I will get hobby-block.

It is almost Two AM where I live as I type this, but I had to finish the rifle unit of Dwarves from the old Warhammer Skull Pass box. All that’s left (of the Dwarves) are the characters and cannon crew.

    Riflers 001

And this time, I remembered to photograph them from behind as well.

    Riflers 002

Normally I’d have something witty to say here, but it’s two am, so zog it.

Finished the Doom Guy/Doom Slayer by KLUKVA Miniatures over the weekend. He only needed a bit of basing work done, and I’m not entirely happy with it, but it will work for now.

    DoomSlayer #1

    DoomSlayer #2

I think I have a problem painting already sculpted bases and never really know how to make them look right. I could have just left it all as the soil of Mars and painted it the same orange as the rocks, but I decided to coat the thing in sand. It kinda works, but I keep thinking it looks a bit odd.

Happy with how the retro DOOM Guy came out though.
