great
Hello boys!
Long time I haven’t posted. those has been finished a few weeks back but never got around to snap the pictures.
@beaudouro, I like where your Napoleonics are going, can’t wait to see more mate.
@Kautwerk Awesome job! really jealouse mine is still in his blister ^^
@yogiebear man you are really pushing your skills. that is awesome!
The last of the Gotham city chronicles stuff for now. The Joker, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy.
@misch It’s the Detolf from Ikea. Comes with 3 glass shelves you cannot adjust the height of. Extra shelves can be bought here . They can have their height adjusted. The brackets they use are not compatible with the original shelves though. the Detolf is cheap at £40 I think, but delivery for me was almost that again, so I kept an eye on ebay and picked up one a few miles down the road from me for £25. You might be able to do the same if you are patient. It is a very nice and reasonably priced unit. I believe it is the “industry standard” mini display case. I assembled mine by myself without issue, but a second pair of hands would have been useful. The comes up to just above my eye level, so I can kinda see the light fitting poking out of the top, but its not glaring at me. This makes it a good height to act as an extra shelf, for display of larger items, or just for storage.
As I said above, if you’re going to get one and want to add the extra shelves, I would advise doing that during construction, before any glass is added, but its far from essential to do this. It’s just less scary this way.
Mine came with the light kit pre-installed. It is in the very middle of the top, as I would likely have done myself. I find this means the minis are mostly in shadow. I’d advice testing it out closer to the front of the case before doing anything permanent, if you get the light.
messing about with some contrast paints, the turqoise didnt work so well I feel, despite 2 heavy applications, the dark grey worked ok over the armour as a wash
@lawnor. Thx for the info. I have an Ikea not far away, so I may have to pick one up.
Ive started some 6mm ancient germans, great fun to paint (luckily as there are hundreds of the little guys!)
@krautwerk that model is lovely, especially love the base, please tell me you have a ‘how to’ somewhere?
This is Lirael elf cleric. She is one of the PCs in the campaign im running. The model itself is from reaper miniatures (77057)
And here are the Highwaymen of Datmoor Heath finished!
I’ve finally managed to finish my Van Saar gang which is nice. I love painting when I get into it, but have lulls of weeks at a time where I don’t even pick up a brush.
@dogma2097 awesome work on this one! Why buy the prepainted ones when you can have something so cool
@civilcourage oh my… great work on those 6mm. one can’t deny that it makes you think “I should get going on that scale” and…. I am tempted to do so for large WWII scale
@darkvernon lovely minis there. A burrows and Badgers gang I guess?
@superfurrymaniac love how the armors and bases look. quite a good looking gang there 🙂
So back at it with the Harry Potter stuff. This time I was able to finish Kingsley. I also had some time to play with the contrast paints. I did a little write up on my thoughts Here
A pair of Mutant Hounds and an Alien for Fallout.
