Some d&d Npcs I finished up recently.
May 1, 2019 at 7:40 am #1384913@nogbadthebad definitely an eerie green glow and go for it with the osl ?
May 1, 2019 at 10:58 am #1385034Hi all! I painted the Moonshiners gang for The Chicago Way. And of course some equipment for them to serve as terrain or objectives.
May 1, 2019 at 1:15 pm #1385123Hey thedace,
You dont think green and green skin would be too much? I like green as an “evil” colour but held off cos of that…
Torres and Gerry have both offered pale blue as an option for the contrast..
Thanks bud, my painting is a little sporadic but i will remember to stick a pic on here when i next pic it back up
May 1, 2019 at 2:38 pm #1385158I’ve just finished this Burrows and Badgers Hedgehog Alchemist last night. Lovely sculpt as always and a pleasure to paint.
There’s a few bits of tidying up I did after this photo was taken.
May 1, 2019 at 4:35 pm #1385273Nice work @mellett68 I do like your work so far.
So While Im waiting on the next Unit to workits way across my desk, I needed to make a Rally point marker, seeing as my force is Arthurian I thought what could be more Appropriate than this?
Made out of Greenstuff and a spare sword
May 1, 2019 at 5:22 pm #1385284Thanks, I appreciate that!
What game are your arthurians for?
I’ve started assembling the 4-point plastic starter for Saga from Gripping beast and it’s proving to be a challenge!
I haven’t got much experience with the smaller scale and the plastic is soft so they’re taking a lot of cleanup so far. One thing I do know is that they’re going to look good with some paint on.
May 1, 2019 at 8:19 pm #1385330Im primarily assembling these for War and Conquest, however because im tight and dont want to buy another set of models, im sabot basing the plastics so that I can take them off the regiment bases and put them on round bases, hey presto SAGA warband 🙂
In WaC personalities (characters) are separate from the units theyre attached too, so I round based them by default, so are the skirmish units, so theres no need for trying to sabot base the metal characters.
if thats clear as mud, heres a pic of what I mean.
Turns out that the Gripping Beast plastic Saxon Thegns, dark age warriors, and Arab spearmen all have the same puddle base shape and size. doesn’t half make doing this so much easier…
May 1, 2019 at 10:24 pm #1385362Brilliant idea!
I’m using Saga for a very tentative first step towards historical games. I think a local club plays or played it in the past so I know there’s some players around.
I really fancied getting into sharp practice (and probably still will eventually) but I was getting too hung up on historical accuracy to just buy some figures and enjoy painting them. Heaven forbid my regulars have the wrong hats on our something.
May 1, 2019 at 10:47 pm #1385363Finished my Spring Cleanup Space Marine 😉
See progress here: project link
May 2, 2019 at 1:10 am #1385370My ruined back abated slightly enough for me to finish a Rhino. And almost completely matched the colour from the first one. I have another bunch to go, but I think they’ll pop out quite swiftly now I don’t have ludicrous backlog of Marines looming overhead.
(Actual overhead of Marines has not lessened much TBH, and in some areas, it has grown, but I’m telling myself that there’s no backlog so I can get these vehicles painted, okay?)Proper pics when I get another couple of Rhinos painted, but more for proof they’re done than for “showcasing”; no-one really needs to see Khaki Rhinos – it’s all very dull – all very dull indeed until you see, like, 8 or more Khaki Rhinos. A carpet of Rhinos. Yay!
May 2, 2019 at 8:35 am #1385394Finished a ninja team from Ninja Allstars. Had to test the material for painitng, before i start the ninja team of my son, who asked ma to paint his Yamazaru Clan. 🙂
May 2, 2019 at 9:22 am #1385411@nogbadthebad Yeah I didn’t really think about that Lol. Gerry and Torres would be a lot more knowledgeable than me on such things some I recon take their advice on the pale blue and you won’t go far wrong.
This is a Gremlin (close to a Goblin I suppose) I did a while back for Malifaux. I tried my had at some Red, Orange, Yellow OSL (my first attempt). Hope it helps seeing how that looks on Green skin.
May 2, 2019 at 4:15 pm #1385703Painted a Viking and two Saxons from V&V Miniatures. V&V makes awesome resin minis, but I have a hard time recommending them because they are so fragile. I had to do extensive repair work on both Saxons, and the ax on the Viking is a plastic one from the Conquest Games Normans set. The barest touch and the resin ax snapped in half! These are likely diplay minis rather than play minis.
