Finally got some of Pendrakens 10mm Barbarians painted. These seemed to take forever. Not overly chuffed with the mix of figures as there are too many standing upright with spear . But there painted and based which is the main thingbarbb

I have assembled and begun painting the Megtrakk Skrapjet my niece gave me for my birthday because it looked like something I would want to paint. She was, of course, correct about that and about a week later Necron099 told me he had just won the auction for a boxed set on eBay. So there it was, I had to paint it. I will say it is the first new GW model I’ve dealt with for a decade and I am impressed both with the ease of assembly and clarity of instructions. From a painter’s perspective it has a lot of clear details (that aren’t all skulls) as well as space for some freehand. Well I say space for freehand but I’m not there yet. I decided the easiest way to avoid frustration was to work in sub-assemblies so didn’t attach the wheels, tracks, or driver yet.  Looking forward to trying out the rules soon.

Step one needed the legs and tailgunner painted before I could continue.

I don’t know why the previous entry posted before I was done but here is the rest of my progress.

@lawnor @lloyd @somegeezer Far be it from me to deny questionable thread content!  His bum is very firmly swaddled though!

    Final 2 - Copy

Also managed to work in a few more adjustments.  I swapped the leather headband for metal and upped the NMM a little on the left-hand chains.

Got the base coats down on most of the model. That lovely little grot gunner barely shows at all but I know he’s painted in there. The control panel makes me happy I left the driver’s upper half out for painting.

Finished up a little d&d commission this weekend. First is a necromancer and the 2nd a dwarven pirate. I was also able to finish up some marble floor dungeon tiles for myself.

@baronvonuppercase I’ve been assuming he has some kind of fishing net strapped to his back.  it never occurred to me that it was leather.  I was expecting to see flesh between the ropes.  Thank you.  This is a fine example of why companies should always show us 360 angles of their painted minis, and never just their best side.

Finally finished up the “Extended” Rogue Trader Land Speeder. By the end of it I’ve got to say I really don’t miss lead vehicle minis AT ALL – such a pain to work with, especially painting, as it needs heavier grip when handling all the paint constantly gets rubbed off. Anyhoo, pretty pleased with the result – different take from the “Proteus” that Forge World did, but I think the skid plates look more at home and protective than dangling feet, plus it didn’t cost me £50 as I had the Land Speeder kicking about and the plastic pieces were from the Stormtalon kit.
