Just finished up my Farstriders for Warhammer Underworlds Shadespire, been working on them in my spare time over the weekends.
June 2, 2018 at 12:31 am #1197235Image doesn’t look great in the preview there but if you click on it you’ll be treated to a lovely high-res version.
June 2, 2018 at 1:52 am #1197296@vapian I gloss coated the minis then used Micro Set to fix the transfers in place and then after it dried, used Micro Sol, usually two or three applications. I then did a final coat of Dullcoat.
Unlike GW decals, these are thinner. But you will have to trim them as close to the patterns as possible. This s is because the entire sheet is decal film and if you don’t trim it, you’ll have excess to deal with.
As for shipping time, I have no idea. I’m in Atlanta so a few days via US Postal Service for mine.
June 2, 2018 at 6:36 am #1197462Bust I’ve finally gotten back to working on. Zayna from Iter Miniatures. First bust i’ve worked on. Lotta fun so far, still lots to do
June 2, 2018 at 12:11 pm #1198055Hello All,
There is some great stuff on here as usual. I haven’t been on much since the change to BoW2.0, but i have been doing some painting. I’ve gone into a bit more depth over on my own thread, but here are my two completed Necromunda Bounty Hunters.
Female Ex-Esher Bounty Hunter
Overall I am really happy with her, I think her hair came out a really nice shade of dirty blonde. Normally I struggle with hair.Water Guild Bounty Hunter
This was a pretty poorly cast model, the front of the cloth was all badly shaped and i had to try to reshape it, and the hand with the las pistol was pretty bad too. If you look closely you can see where they aren’t quite right but overall I think I managed to save the model. (On a side note, why do GW put out poor resin models and think its acceptable, while most other companies resin is way better?)I also painted the bulkhead behind the two of them, to give them some none Infinity scenery to stand in front of!
Finally i have started to paint my necron immortals, at the moment they are just base colours so that i know where everything is going.
June 2, 2018 at 6:33 pm #1198828June 2, 2018 at 9:26 pm #1199127I’ve made some progress on my Hunters Guild for Guild Ball. Tomorrow I hope to paint the green cloth. I’ll update my project log with my weekends work at work on Monday, but it can be found here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/guild-ball-hunters-guild-by-lawnor/
June 2, 2018 at 9:51 pm #1199180@rekky those Bounty Hunters looks awesome! And the terrain pieces too!
I tried painting, but it’s so hot I need to have a fan going. But now my paint dries from the wet palette to the mini..
Tried to get more progress on my Wilderkin for Relicblade.
June 2, 2018 at 10:59 pm #1199288June 3, 2018 at 8:11 am #1199590Thought I’d just throw this up to show how my Wolves are currently progressing:
Given I have 1 day a week in which I can paint, and I’ve been fitting in other projects as well, I’m fairly happy with how this is progressing. And as it stands that still leaves me with the following to complete for this force:
Rune Priest
Wolf Guard Battle Leader
Lone Wolf
Wolf Guard Standard Bearer
Iron Priest
10 Wolf Guard Terminators
10 Wolf Guard
22 Grey Hunters
10 Blood Claws
11 long Fangs
12 Fenrisian Wolves
5 Drop PodsJune 3, 2018 at 9:38 am #1199749I decided to convert myself a Heavy Blightlauncher.
I made my ammo tank out of a diabetic needle cover. I took a saw to cut off the end to bring it down flat to the main body of the tank.
I just wanted some variety in attack options because the easy build foetid Bloat-drones from the Dark Imperium box set only had Plaguespitters.

June 3, 2018 at 9:40 am #1199757Lovely work sir. Looking forward to the new space wolf codex?
June 3, 2018 at 11:21 am #1199846Whatever gives you that idea 🙂
Space Wolves were my first real 40k army back when GW released their metal kits at the ass-end of Rogue Trader, and I’ve flirted with them over the years but never completed any of the forces I started for 3rd, EoT or 5th. I figured this was a good time to take all the SW kits I’d built or had lying around and get them painted up. I’ve added a few more bits and pieces, and in between things like Custodes, Grey Knights, Sisters of Silence and Inquisitors focusing in on this force has been a nice challenge. Hopefully I can get the whole lot done by the time the new Codex drops 😀
June 3, 2018 at 6:51 pm #1200472Just finished up this warband for Shadespire.
The Good: Love the molded bases these guys came with; went together really well
The Bad: Stylistically they are a bit incoherent
The Ugly: Details were a bit soft in placesOverall nice models to game with (they come in coloured plastic) that look great with a lick of paint!
Working on this handsome devil now:
June 3, 2018 at 8:42 pm #1200616I’ve finished the green, the tusks and the bamboo(?) frame on Seenah now. Next I think is the leather so I can see whats left and work out how many more clothing colours I need to pick. I’m not happy with this green. The paints went down well for the base, the shade, and the first highlight/reclaiming the surface. Thereafter the paints just refused to behave the way the rest had. Perhaps its this british heat, but people manage to paint in hotter countries every day. It’s also super glossy which was unexpected, but varnish will fix that. Anyway, it’s taken me a whole sunday to put the green down so I’m going with it. I want to keep moving forward. Progress must always be made.
I’ll update the related Project tomorrow some time with full details of my weekends progress.
