March 7, 2020 at 9:05 pm #1494339@madgolem welcome to the madhouse that is the unofficial weekender 😀
@tuffyears those warcry minis look good.
I think it’s contrast all the way, right ?
I’d love to see the list of colours used. The iron golemns in something other that standard red look good.
March 7, 2020 at 9:20 pm #1494351@limburger the contrast i used was Militarum green ,skeleton hoard, aggaros dunes, mangos purple, akhelian green aethermatic, basilcanum grey, gulliman fleash, black templar , a unmarked pot that was mislabelled ultramarine blue but i believe is snakebite leather, and a base paints was zandri dust , khrone red
March 8, 2020 at 12:54 am #14943951. Nope. Just got back to the UK from visiting family in Sicily. On the way out, at Catania, we were swabbed and had our temperatures taken and there were ambulances on standby outside the airport. Every school was closed overnight, with no notice (for almost a month).
We just landed in Gatwick and the place was deserted! The only signs of a virus was a poster in the gents which said “maybe you might want to wash you’re hands after having a wee” (or words to that effect). I somehow expected more, given the reports of panic buying of basic goods.
2. I always wanted to try Pandemic but could never get enough people interested in it, together, at the same time.
3. I’m on my phone on a tiny screen and forgot what q3 was…
As for pledges; finish my open source motorised painting handle and actually post the designs online. Make a start on my home printed Jabba the Hutt.
It’s late. Music to follow in the morning….
March 8, 2020 at 2:51 am #14943971. Nope. I’m travelling from Australia to Salute next month.
2. Never played it
3. It will be Christmas before you know it. And 60% of the population will have had Coronavirus and 14 days off work. Woohoo! I’ll be levelling up in Call of Duty.
March 8, 2020 at 6:00 am #1494408Worked out the detail for the clapboard siding of the wall and had it warp slightly before a tack weld of instant superglue. I then set it all to the door frame with a small amount of acetone. Its not easy to try and scribe plasticard that is .02″ thick and not cut through it but it got done. All the rest of the scoring was done to give the door detail before placing it into the frame and adding the support detail. The wall as a whole was pinned and then set into the base wth glue.
I’m thinking from here it might still go well as an undertaker shopfront but it could also work with an Ash (Evil Dead) inspired figure or some sort of trapper/hunter. The base is pretty plain still and could be developed more. All the small work yet to do.
March 8, 2020 at 7:45 am #1494423March 8, 2020 at 9:00 am #1494429Completed Chapter 6 of Tainted Grail last night. Read my write up here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1467741/
March 8, 2020 at 12:08 pm #1494483Nice work @horati0nosebl0wer but I wonder who will be the one who knocks? XD
It’s Sunday, I’m up late from bed, will be watching XLBS now and will have you know: @warzan is a bad man with his riddles! 😉
March 8, 2020 at 12:09 pm #1494485March 8, 2020 at 12:36 pm #1494527i am going through my collection photoing the whole lot and turning them into projects
this is my slaves to darkness project
March 8, 2020 at 7:04 pm #1494561With the first base pretty much wrapped up for the difficult part of construction I’ve gone to my second build while in transit. I’ve taken the plasticard and built up with a couple of 3x25mm MDF round bases (handy for those random old figures I’ve turned up). Around that I’ve taken random chunks of basswood strip to act as foundation material to give a grade to the soil and headstones I’ve planned for later. If I can find my Apoxiesculpt I’ll put in some rocks on areas that might be more exposed. This moving thing really is a pain when trying to figure what is where.
@sundancer The knocking may be done by those not invited. Thinking back to the Evil Dead remake I hope to not find out. Then again it might all be a plot like ‘Cabin In the Woods’.
@tuffyears I agree with limburger. The green really comes off well with those figures. A sense of Nurgle drips from them with the weathered brass too. Speaking of thinka you’d rather not want to meet in the dark I have a box of The Unmade that has yet to be worked on. I’ll keep my mind to it after seeing those figures.
March 8, 2020 at 8:56 pm #1494606@limburger I‘m glad to be „in the madhouse“. Seems to be a good place these days 😉
finished the second Skyhawk
March 8, 2020 at 9:27 pm #1494608@blinky465 pandemic (like any co-op game) can be played solo, but OTOH … it’s the team that makes the dream work.
The only problem with games like this is that there’s always the chance that one player tells everyone else what to do.//
@horati0nosebl0wer do you have a figure in mind for those bases ?
Because that might help determine what ‘extra’ bits are needed.
It could be as simple as opening the door just a bit …March 9, 2020 at 1:28 am #1494635@limburger The door held ajar would be good idea for future use. This door is firmly glued in place. There will be no moving it unless the whole thing comes apart. I will follow in the footsteps of @tuffyears and plug a project I decided to spin from this. It should keep the thread a little cleaner and not be me spamming it with updates.
@madgolem Sweet work on the Thunderhawk and I’ll say not shabby at all with those Mirages. Are those IDF markings on the sides? From my phone screen the blue looks a little light and it seems like Greek to me (lol).
@blinky465 Your gadgetry is always astonishing. Keep up the good work and good luck with Jabba. Thinking about your brush creation I’m reminded of the time I was working at IKEA and saw all sorts of paintings that were generally the same colors/designs with similar (if not the same) brushstroke patterns. If the input was recorded could someone repeat the process of painting with multiple copies of the same figure?
