@sundancer I hadn’t looked at the actual size, because I was expecting the Xwing to be similar to that Iron maiden spitfire model which is 1:32 scale.
But then … I don’t know how big any star wars vehicle is supposed to be anyway.
November 4, 2019 at 5:47 am #1453880to be in scale with Legion around the 1:50 mark (give or take). Revells A-Wing in 1:44 work great also this one: https://www.revell.de/produkte/star-wars/star-wars-episode-vii/resistance-x-wing-fighter.html
November 4, 2019 at 9:00 am #1453892I bought some mini-kits to send to an eight-year-old for a b’day present and immediately regretted it, when they sent me photos of them all made up (and my brother-in-law had painted and drybrushed them). They looked awesome!

At a fiver a time, I thought they were pretty good value (and I got brownie points for sending a whole load if different spaceships without breaking the bank!) I’ve no idea what scale they would be but I reckon if someone was playing 15mm star wars they’d just about work (albeit slightly small for that scale) or even look like large ‘ships at 6mm.
November 4, 2019 at 9:11 am #145390415mm should work. Or if you don’t use them as landed craft but as “display pieces” on a socket. If they come with a transparent flight stand you could paint them blue as “hologram”.
Actually… I like that Idea… I need to take a look at the local store if they have one of them…. how hard could it be to paint 😉
November 4, 2019 at 3:00 pm #14540441) Blame Canada. Or your tournament. I suspect the former though.
2) I’ve not been playing anything just quietly assembling my 2 player Kings of War starter (nightstalkers done).
3) I’m looking forward to my KoW event in January. I’ve got a potential local 40k tournament this weekend but I think I may give it a miss. Just not feeling it. Then next weekend (eek) is my Vanguard demo event. I really need to get ready for that.

I know that 28mm is somewhere between 1:48 – 1:56 in scale.
However I was comparing it to that 1:32 scale spitfire.//
I’m so glad I didn’t see the new terminator movie :
That pretty much confirms everything I saw in the trailer to be *beep* *beep* *beeeeeee* (I have no safe words for this ;-))November 4, 2019 at 6:24 pm #1454080So I Managed to grab a little bit of hobby on the studio Dwarves early this morning
Started by putting together the tower belonging to them.
I then primed the Ancestor Engine, and set to work on its base. Im quite happy with the process for basing this army now. So will set some time aside to get stuck into it production line style soon.
I then decided to work on the other war engine – as I still think its cool lol. I decided to turn it into a command vehicle complete with raised observation deck bar with beer on tap 🙂
So hopefully I can get a little bit more done tomorrow 🙂
Night night folks!
November 4, 2019 at 7:05 pm #1454091November 4, 2019 at 7:32 pm #1454092So, I finalized these today by giving them a matte varnish spray.
(TTCombat containers, from their modern city line)
I want to do at least 2 little cars and 3 shipping crates this week, as well as start on my brother’s birthday present.
Btw, Revell offers quite a lot of good value stuff for Legion, be it as scenery or models. They have two Jedi Starfighters in 1:58, Poe’s X-Wing in 1:50, a Tie Fighter in 1:51 and a Snow Speeder in 1:52.
November 4, 2019 at 7:49 pm #1454095Best thing is Revell is officially importing the Bandai Star Wars model kits (in Germany) and the AT-ST and Snowspeeder are nearly perfect in scale to the Legion models. But at a much lower price 😉
November 4, 2019 at 8:57 pm #1454136Building my own Dwarf Warmachine tonight.
November 5, 2019 at 8:13 am #1454201Good mornin’ people of the internet.
@robert will that become a mechanical walker or something with wheels?
November 5, 2019 at 8:59 am #1454207It is the steel behemoth from Mantic. It has legs.
November 5, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1454313@sundancer thanks for the scale ref for Legion. I’ve been looking at a model kit at one of the local stores. Now I’ll know which size ?
Yes, always blame Canada.
Wow @warzan that’s one heck of a beer cart! Where did you get the bar equipment to deck out the top?
@shredhead do you have a project or method for those containers? I’ve a couple of GW containers of my own to paint. Yours looks much more interesting than the first I’ve done.
@robert cool war machine!
I’ve been slowly working on Space Marines, though I spent most of my evening looking for a new job.
Arm swaps on plastic minis.
