Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

2. Yes but there where very few this year. Only two. Good for the environment… bad for my pockets 😉

I also did a bit of hobby (see here) and I found out that my wife has a secret tea society! This is one of her tea making apparatuses.  Do you see what I see?!  😉

Well did get a game of MCP in today with Matty but didnt take any pics coz i wasnt sure there was going to be a weekender but it’s Matty’s birthday on monday (so I cant say too much coz he reads this every so often) and the rest of the week and probably into next weekend will be spent on his present so will post progress pics….

As for the questions:

1) Yep, we dont do the firework thing here because of the pets… they really struggle to light them.

2) Noooooo, the wife won’t let me anymore….she says its embaressing watching me chase rockets down the street…. especially when I catch them…. she wouldnt mind so much if I got dressed first but hey ho

It’s only a weekend when there’s a hobby weekend, right ?

2a) Did you go outside to collect all the wooden rocket sticks for the hobby?

I prefer to avoid the outside around new years eve. Too much noise and too risky
I don’t trust people with fireworks, especially when the officially legal stuff is said to be dangerous and no one knows what kind of illegal really flockin’ dangerous stuff people are trying to set off …

I’ve never seen any wooden sticks in the aftermath of all this. Lots of paper of exploded fireworks I did see.

Finally finished ‘last of us’. I must say I’m glad it was part of PS+ subscription, because it was unbelievably boring with more than a few sections that made me want to throw my controller out the window. And that’s me playing on ‘easy’ difficulty setting.

Anyways … with that done I should have time to refocus on doing a bit of hobby again.
I’ve set myself a goal of doing at least a few minutes of hobby each day this year, because I think this will help me focus on hobby. It’s not a succcessful start, but I shall make an effort to do better.

I’ve already started two private projects that should help me build the starwars legion core box (and beyond).
The only thing I can say about them is that I’m not building a standard army although they probably will function as standard droid or clone army. Which reminds me that I ought to make an entry with my army list.

Not sure if I should start my ‘slaves of darkness’ project as well, because I don’t have a theme for that one at this time.

Q2 & 3:   NO no fireworks for me to scared to even light the BBQ at the moment with the firestroms ragging across my country (Australia) feel a little guilty sitting here painting my conquest models while a large part of my country bruns

My hobby pledge this week is to get ready to start playing through Tainted Grail by putting all the cards in card protectors. Exhilarating stuff!

I may also start to watch season 8 of Game of Thrones now that I own the box set. I’ll admit part of me thinks I might be best if I never do though!

I stopped watching GoT somewhere in the later half… I thought it was a waste of time…

Today I finished a project! A very small one.

Yeah so spent the Xmas holidays painting the Dark Uprising and Kill Team terrain sets.

Well Matty had a great 30th, me not so much thinking about how fast the last 30 years have gone by. The present we got him that I couldn’t mention was his very own copy of Marvel Crisis Protocol. He actually cried when he opened it (to those who don’t know Matty has Autistic Spectrum Disorder and has the maturity level of a 10-12 year old) and I cried when I remembered how fiddly some of the models are for a sausage fingered ape like me.

So made a start and got most of the models built or to late stages of building

 

Just Zemo and Doc Ock to build. I have painted his Iron Man and his Spiderman (in black…..the git!), but chose not to take pics of them until the rest are painted and i can do summat about the lighting.
