### Start of shameless copy and paste ###
First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…
https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/
Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.
First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.
You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.
If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.
A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.
Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.
Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)
And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv
### End of shameless copy and paste ###
Question of the week:
- Did you survive 2021 without any major issues?
- What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
- Why don’t we have a retro watch this week with ancient weekender episodes?
Back to you Karl!
January 7, 2022 at 10:31 am #1707744Pledge: Fuck it! When it come I’ll paint it… or not…
- I dare say yes…. at least as far as I can tell
- my next holiday where I can curl up at my hobby table again and ignore everything else
- actually… I think that is a sound idea for tonight… watching ancient weekender and see how far we have come
music.. we need music. Remember the fallen!
January 7, 2022 at 11:45 am #1707758Question of the week:
1) Did you survive 2021 without any major issues?
YES. In the scheme of all things considered, all is well here.2) What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
The return of lots more Studio content from OTT.
3)Why don’t we have a retro watch this week with ancient weekender episodes?
I’m in! Just let me know which episode we’re watching and if we’re all going to try and watch at the same time so I can get up early or stay up late to time it with OTTERS.
January 7, 2022 at 12:01 pm #1707759Happy Friday.
My pledge:
I’ve just got some stuff from Midlam, some cultists, a plague doctor and two children which I’ll be cleaning up and basing.
Then I’ve got some Renedra wicker fencing I want to scratch build some bases for. I’ll probably aim to complete those and fully paint them to completion.Tomorrow evening myself and friends are going to attempt to re-learn 9th edition of 40k as a few people want to at least get some games in this year. I think one of my friend wants to try using One Page Rules instead (which I may have mentioned to him about a year ago).
Did you survive 2021 without any major issues?
Yep, no problems here. Onwards.
What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
Getting more hobby done and more games played. Also discovering things that I don’t know about right now.
Why don’t we have a retro watch this week with ancient weekender episodes?
That sounds like a very good idea. I’m in, although probably not tonight for me (my regular watching time for the Weekender is actually Saturday afternoon when I finish work for two days, as my weekend starts then).
No music but I just have to mention that my all in pledge for the Core Space Firstborn Kickstarter is out for deliver and I should be getting it this afternoon. I’m excited.
January 7, 2022 at 12:07 pm #1707760So this is, according to the weekender playlist over on YouTube the oldest of the 345 Weekenders.
Uploaded on 26th January 2013. Almost exactly 9 years. That’s fitting I find.
*doing some math*
Hmm…. we should be closer to 460 weekenders in that period…. @warzan you owe us 120 weekenders! Where are they?! XD
January 7, 2022 at 12:08 pm #1707761@templar007 I think I’ll watch them roughly at 19:30BST so almost the same time it usually airs…
January 7, 2022 at 8:56 pm #1707835- Did you survive 2021 without any major issues?
I did, but I am dealing with the fallout from what happened 🙁 - What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
I was hoping for people using their brains, but apparently that idea is still a bridge too far. - Why don’t we have a retro watch this week with ancient weekender episodes?
From the before times ?
The long long ago ?
Isn’t that heresy ?
Und jetzt kommen die Kamelen …
January 7, 2022 at 9:46 pm #1707849January 8, 2022 at 9:37 am #1707896weird doesn’t even begin to describe it …
In not quite hobby news I had to order new tyres for my trike … and because of the lockdown I had to order from a webshop that delivers them on thursday (if I’m lucky).
I thought I had one in reserve, so in theory I should not have to wait. However as it is the right front wheel I’d rather replace both tires at the same time as both were looking kind of thin …So *aarrrgh* not a good end of the week. Hoping to do some hobby this weekend.
January 8, 2022 at 9:40 am #1707897Replacing tires is always a very “I don’t want to” thing to do… especially if you don’t have the proper tools and ruin the new tire in the progress..
January 8, 2022 at 12:08 pm #1707905nah, it’s a piece of cake on the front wheels of my trike as I don’t even need to unmount the wheels themselves, although I probably will do so.
Which reminds me … I should have ordered fresh break pads and replace those too.
January 8, 2022 at 5:35 pm #1707924Been a while since I was around these parts; been a bit busy and stressful with everything, but I thought I’d pop in before the school madness starts again. No specific pledge this week, I think, but I did build a Snek Lady yesterday evening…and I ought to glue the snowspeeder bits together as well. I think I need super glue for that. I’ll give the questions a go, though, and I’ll try and be around a bit more.
Did you survive 2021 without any major issues?
I’m not entirely sure I survived 2019…
What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
Some vague sense of normalcy? Maybe? I am looking forward to playing more games.
Why don’t we have a retro watch this week with ancient weekender episodes?
Not sure if I have a spot to pop in for the streams.

- Did you survive 2021 without any major issues? – Caught Covid on the 27th December, so almost made it. Thankfully I only had it mild.
- What are you looking forward to the most in 2022? – Nothing. Life is bleak.
- Why don’t we have a retro watch this week with ancient weekender episodes? – Not a bad idea.
