    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/forums/topic/introduce-yourselves-new-member-thread/

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Questions:

    • Have you had any bigger leave from your job this year?
    • What’s your first act (hobby related) when you are on annual leave/Holiday.
    • How long does your leave usually last?

And now back to the show.

    No Pledge! HAR HAR HAR!

    My Answers:

    • High noon today my annual leave starts! Three weeks! So expect me being a lot less active on Discord and here!
    • Looking over the pile, sighing and cleaning the space
    • Yes. Three weeks if I’m lucky and no “emergencies” arrive.

    Music!

    Happy Friday.

My pledge is to finish those last 8 goblins today, then to start on something new and different. Not sure what yet, I’ll see what I’m in the mood for when looking over my to do pile.

Have you had any bigger leave from your job this year?

I’ve had a few weeks off this year, and more to come.

What’s your first act (hobby related) when you are on annual leave/Holiday.

Nothing different than usual for me.

How long does your leave usually last?

I usually only take one week off at a time, but some years I’ve booked two weeks off.

    Hi ho Weekend 😀

I’ve had almost two whole months to re-think my priorities after I switched jobs.
Best anual leave ever … and still nothing got done.
Well … not nothing, I did manage to re-arrange my hobby space so that I could work on stuff for once.
    (hasn’t happend yet … but at least I can try 😀 )

Normal leave is one week of adjusting to not having to work followed by trying to adjust to regular work day rythm on the last day of my second week as I realise that I may have swapped day and night cycles while obsessing a bit too much about the latest videogame …

    MUSIC

I missed my moonstone delivery today … so I get to pick it up tomorrow if all things go as planned.
We shall see what I can do with that. No promises though 😀

At least you didn’t have to wait as long as @sundancer did for his Bot War (still milking that meme ?).

@demonsub yeah … I was thinking the same : worst case it got send back to the UK

The vast majority of the delay appears to have happened on this side of the pond though.

Pledge: (Miniac’s catchphrase) “Paint More Minis!!!” :cue guitar riff:

What is this leave thing you speak of? I know I’ve accrued time off the job but its more of “just in case I need to step out”. Annual leave is a mystery to me since leaving the military years and years ago.

As far as hobby, I’ll keep punching out work now that I’ve figured what works for me and what I want to achieve. The stuff I don’t need to obsess over as play pieces will be painted as such. I will, however, make exception for my army builds. The best looking force on the field will be mine

You may ask.. why do I do this to myself. In truth, it is I who do it to you. Now, here is your weekly weird sure to remind you of Gerry and other wookies, Borat from intent and other oddities too strange to speak of.

Nice. I was going to ask what you got but then I saw your post on Discord. Enjoy.

As for my hobby, goblins are all done and finished and project has been updated,…twice.15A43893-A127-47CB-BA18-CDF702C7C356

Next up I’m going to start on the five Otherworld miniatures I got for Rangers of Shadow Deep which I need for a scenario. Once they’re painted I get to play it.

Sweet deal to catch the update on the thread, see great stuff and fill my  earholes with glee. Background project stuff is getting worked on and I’ve been fooling around with a few things that’ve been sitting around for a bit.

My thanks to @ceppie for some of the printed stuff he sent me a while back as its giving me things to plow through and see what my inspiration is capable of tackling with the speed block method.

@demonsub yeah I did post those initial scary pictures on discord 😀
I also emailed moonstone shop telling them that despite the damage done to the package everything had arrived safely, which is a ff-ing miracle given the fragile bits some of the models need (crusty balboa has whiskers that are soo tiny).

I think I will build in order from least complex (the Cursed) and up towards the most complex (Booty’s Bilge trio).
Sub assemblies appear to be the way to go for the trio as well, because that would make painting their respective mounts easier too.

Now all I really need is a good name for a project to document my progress …

Sunday, high noon. I get out of bed in the soothing knowledge: I don’t need to go to work tomorrow!

Now I have coffee, a show to watch and some commenting to do.

    First a trailer:

followed by some soothing music. Take it away boys!
