Collected the commission cash and I can’t help but turn my eye to Blitzkrieg Miniatures… *whimper sigh* They’ve got elephants now! Argh!!!

Now for interesting viewing. Don’t mind the “epic music”

Promoting a video of a random fellow painter. Interesting find and makes me think to look at the scale. I believe those are 25mm elephants from 1st Corps.

More random gamer video inspiration. It does not help me to try and stop myself from picking up another army. Its this and the Koryo that have my attention.

So, just to kick this bucket again, there is something in this hobby that really annoys me. And it’s personal.

In my job as IT dude it’s not uncommon to have some “downtime” on premise. Basically waiting for reboots or installations to finish. When I have these times I often think to myself “if I would be at home now I could do so much hobby”.

And then later that day I get home.

And more often then not, the amount of hobby getting done is close to zero.

Why is that? Why does one crave to do one thing when he can’t do it but the second he has time for it just doesn’t do it.

    Brain, y u do this?

the things we can’t have are the things we desire the most …

I don’t know, but yeah … I totally get that.
In theory I’ve got a wonderful holiday ( a little under two more weeks of this before I start my new job), but in reality I manage to get fck all done. And it happens in weekends too no matter how often I tell myself that *this* time I’m going to do things.

It annoys the fck out of me when I think about it, so I try not to do so … need less stress, not more.

Yeah, I do this all of the time when I’m at work. Not just hobby stuff but all of the exciting things I’ll do when I’m off.

Also congrats @limburger on the new job.

Also, also, more Moonstone has been painted.

@demonsub welll it’s a 7 month contract with an option for permanent. I need to survive the initial trial month as well.
Neither of which should be a problem if (a) everything is as was presented and (b) I can be of use to them.
Also my first time I had to get an official certificate of good behaviour (not sure what the English equivalent is), because they’re dealing with confidential data.

Am trying to think positive thoughts … because it is sometimes so damned easy to think dark/depressing things.

Anyways … 1:1 scale terrain continues. It is tricky to stay motivated, but I must continue as it will help me keep my head clear once work starts.

“official certificate of good behaviour” I think that’s what the Americans call “background check”. “Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis” in German *g* (“certificate of good conduct” or “police clearance certificate”)

    yeah .. something like that.

In Dutch it is called a ‘Verklaring omtrent gedrag” (‘Certificate of conduct’ … it’s on the bloody thing in English too for some reason) and (as per usual) you may need a different one depending on what kind of work you do, which effectively means that just because you got one that doesn’t mean it is good enough.

I haven’t been cleared for handling money for example … so if I that is needed I need to get another one.
And like all things from the government it costs money, because paying taxes isn’t good enough for some reason.
The only good thing of all this paperwork is that my (future) employer is paying the cost.

    Anyways …

@danlee nice paintjob. Only the beard looks weird… horizontal lines? Is that dirt on the camera or 3D print problems?
