@horati0nosebl0wer – it started out ok, but mainly because I thought it was going to be a cover version of Metallica’s One. Then it went crazy and I wasn’t a fan, although I love the pinched harmonic tones the girls were getting out of the guitars. Then, by the time the chorus came around, it was ok. But mainly because it reminded me a late 2000s Eurovision song entry. But, then again, I quite like Eurovision-metal, so that’s ok.

I might do some work on a rank of my Berserkers later on. I’ve just decided I’ll finish them off by ranks to get them done before moving on to something else. I won’t post a ‘how to…’ on my project log because it’s all been covered already. I might also start The Greatjon next just to finish off all my Umbers that I have who will also use a lot of overlap, too, so I could just work to getting some stuff finished up. We’ll see. I will deff have to switch to some Lannisters soon, though…

Another five minis “cross the floor” from the “to do” pile and make it into the “done” pile. In all honesty, I’m going to be gutted when this lockdown is officially over – I’m going to try to eke it out for as long as I can, and get as much painting do as I can before real life (and work) finally refuses to be held back any longer.

It’s late at night and my camera flash has really made a mess of the highlights – they’re nowhere near as stark, in real-life – but overall I’m pretty happy with these guys. I feel a little bit like I cheated, because when it came to the weapons (the last parts to get painted) I just whacked on a drybrush of silver and said “that’ll have to do”. Though I guess if I didn’t, they’d still be taunting me from the “to do” side of the shelf for another week or so!

Right…. what’s next?

So while listening to Cult Radio I did some work on the berserkers and I now have a whole rank done (including the banner)!

I finished the Kingdom Death Gorm expansion models. With the Gorm I tried something new and did a mottled pattern on the skin of its back. I think it turned out very well. With the eyes being so big on the Gorm I also painted the eyes complete with irises and pupils, which again seems to have worked well. Painting a single model and just a few associated survivors made for a nice little project. I’m looking forward to doing the Lonely Tree expansion in a few weeks.
