    So I guess I should not post this then :

    😀

    This week’s pledge: Get more of my current solo figure project painting done and knock out some batch painting for funsies

    What’s the worst pain you’ve had to endure over a longer period of time?
    Worst pain I’ve had to endure long term has left what I like to call my Vitamin Steel deposit. Lets just say it made me well aware of my body and has changed my perception of pain.

    Finally having some time off, motivation drops sub zero, what to do against it?
    Motivating one’s self when you have the time to do things is best by unplugging from most media other than some OTT and hobby related stuff (music aside). I’d say that the dopamine kick we get out of finished projects and seeing the handiwork we produce is best bolstered when we do little in the way of vegitating before screens for Netflix or videogames (I’m not above speaking blasphemies as an iconoclast here).

    What year is this?
    This is the year 2020, Year of the Plague Rat according to the Chinese lunacy calendar.

    For @johnlyons … because tanks and hardbass can’t be helped

    @limburger I’ll see that Slavic song and raise you for intense gopnik experience you must have for cheeky breeky

    that’s not music

    this is proper music

    I wonder if the English lyrics in these songs by the Hu match the original text.

    Got the Champion done, and all that’s left of the Banner Bearer is the flag, itself! I’ll be doing the flag as a more indepth project log on just it…which is why it’s currently very grey… The Champion is all finished, though, and does have the Mors Umber look I wanted (though I keep confusing him with his brother so he’s actually Crowfood, not Whoresbane…).

    Project log coming soon! But now; music.

    I don’t think in all my years on this site I’ve ever taken part in a Weekender thread. It always looks fun though so here we go.

    Pledge is to build and prime the remains of a box of Roman Legionaries (4 models), take the 15 Minas Tirith models out of the Dettol and get them primed and finish the 3 French Napoleonics I started two weeks ago but got interrupted.

    Q1 – in full sympathy, I had dental pain last November that was so bad I couldn’t sit still. I suffer chronic pain so have a constant (not entirely healthy) level of painkillers in my system but they didn’t touch that bugger!

    Q2 – Oh, I wish I had a tried and true for this. Sometimes picking one character mini helps (I keep Burrows and Badgers minis aside for just this purpose). Or I’ll switch to build mode and just built and prime a bunch of minis. Other times though, I just walk away and play video games.

    Q3 – does it matter anymore?

    @ninjilly Welcome to the madhouse! 😛 I can’t help but read that band’s name in Norwegian, though, and that is a fun sound… 😛 Looking forward to seeing those Frogs all finished.

    @sundancer A classic Goblin Green base? Haven’t seen one of those in a while. They look great!

    #1551591

    Time to give our dear Pundancer something that scratches the itch of Star Wars and teaches along the way.

    Now for the riposte to @limburger ‘s thrust of audio effrontery

    “This is proper music.” Pfft! … I think @avernos might have a thing to say about something somewhere

    Now an additional volley of bleeps and bloops

    And for those who want something different and would care for orchestral

    @sundancer what are those models?

    @horati0nosebl0wer some great tracks there.

    My weekend was mainly taken up with a bird stuck in a pipe problem so didn’t get to do my French. Got the building and priming done that I wanted though so that’s something.

    HardBass gave me a headache. I used to love double-bass-drum metal back in the day, but now I really struggle to listen to it. I think Pantera/Cowboys from Hell is about as much as I can take these days (playing blues and pub rock in various bands and at jam nights for the last ten years has left me unable to listen to anything that doesn’t have a “nice melody”!)

    I’m still undecided on BabyMetal

    When I first heard it, I couldn’t decide if it was awesome or terrible. These days, if I’m honest with myself, I only really like the catchy choruses!

    Anyway, your selection of music has kept me amused this morning, as I’ve been busy in the workshop laser cutting

    Image1

    I spent ages trying to modify – then create from scratch – some pavements for 3d/resin printing. In the end, just laser cut some mdf and stuck on some cardboard paving slabs. I quite like it. Off to throw some Halfords primer on it and see how it stands up to some drybrushing…..
