Thanks, but it’s a week friday. They couldn’t stand thought of me not being there on the day.

    DST is totally ineffcient.

We’re supposed to be ‘saving’ energy by not having lights on in the morning … but I needed those lights about a month ago already. And even though it may be bright in the morning now, I’m also needing to use lights one hour earlier after the change.

The one thing the EU could have done is to get rid of this monstrosity forever, but in typical political fashion they didn’t do anything and were planning to make it ‘every country for itself’ because making it worse is somehow an option?

    Anyways …

It has been the week of arriving packages for me. 😀
I got a few bits from Warlord as well as a ‘free’ sprue of celtic warriors and a second copy of the Bolt-action rulebook mini.
Because the mini appears to have two weapon options I can now build them both 🙂

Lords of Vegas boardgame arrived, which was from a kickstarter I backed ages ago it feels like.

And finally I got a big box of resin minis from the Bad Guys kickstarter by Scibor. Lovely big fat sculpts with loads of character.

As I type this I also need to sort out a bit of last minute halloween decorations. My new neighborhood has organised this and I want to see what it’s like to hand out candy to kids. I may have to plan for something a bit less improvised next year, but time will tell.

I’m trying to focus on getting stuff done, but all of this is not making it easier for me.

Missed posting at the start of the weekend. This weeks pledge would have been to keep working on Terrain Fest. Speaking of which: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1896810/

Yowzah … the kids emptied me of all the candy and tangerines I had bought for this event.

My neighbor gave me a bit extra to hand out, but even that’s gone now.

Almost 2 hours … and a truck load of kids.
Halloween may be a new thing in this country, but the kids sure as heck like getting free candy 😀

Some even liked the tangerines I had.
A few were spoiled brats, but the little ones were well behaved.

Definitely doing this again next year, but I do need to be better prepared.
an infinite supply of candy would be real useful as well.

oooh … youtube has a lot of content about making your own Halloween decorations.
Including some basic movement and up to animatronics.
What a world to be alive 😀

It’s been quiet and ‘ol @sundancer hasn’t started a new weekender … so I’m guessing we keep this one alive ?

Plans for upcoming weekend are easy : games .. games … and more games.
Or at least looking at games and trying not to be tempted to buy new stuff.

    Home

It’s no UKGE or Spiel … but it’s the best we got.
And it looks like we might be seeing the multi award winning Moonstone as well as Conquest.
I do hope the folk running those tables understand that there’s people they need to entertain …

’cause last year there was one table with Dead man’s Hand that didn’t even attempt to engage with passers by.
The 40k table was even worse.

We’ll have to see if there’s fun to be had, because at least they’ve shoved the card gaming to its own area.

so I’m guessing we keep this one alive ?

You’re always free to start a new one yourself. It’s not like I invented that thing. I just went with it way back when… I must admit I have forgotten who done it before me.

I had a long weekend and it was stuffed with things. Including going to the zoo and watching the 501st run around little ghosts XD (also paperwork like taxes had to be done)

true … that was Uncle Jimmy if I recall correctly … although he may not have been the first either.

    501st running around ghosts ?
    I’m guessing it’s a German thing ? 😀

I wasn’t sure what to post in a new thread myself, but I didn’t want to accidentally create a duplicate one either.

    Anyways …
For some reason I did f*ck all this weekend, despite having plans.
I blame the daylight ‘saving’ time for this depressing lack of initiative on my side.
So many things I want to do that I often end up doing nothing at all.

    Well that’s not completely true.
I did manage to finally install the one outdoor camera in its designated spot.
Could have done it in one day, but the hole I had drilled to pass through the cable was too small and I realized only today that I did have the tools to make it a bit bigger. Somehow past me had bought a hole saw (sp?) that was big enough, but I had forgotten to check the sizing before using the 18mm drill … 🙁

As per usual I sort of lose interest when that happens and need to find new motivation to continue with the project.
Luckily I got over that bump today so I finished it.

OTOH … I did go to the local DIY store because another tiny project had run into a snag and I thought I needed some bits for that. In theory that means I can finish that one as well, but I have to make sure I remember that tomorrow or else I will be distracted by a new idea.

    I think I’m done rambling.

@limburger @sundancer the 501st is a Star Wars stormtrooper re-enactment group if I’m not mistaken? They are VERY picky about their kit, and who can present in their group, as far as I know.

    18mm saw? That’s a BIG hole…

Yeah the 501st is the biggest Star Wars Cosplay group their is. Regional chapters all around the world and they even get involved in official events to represent Star Wars for Disney.

And then there was a small local Ghostbusters Cosplay group running around taking pictures.

    And now: Monday.
