    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/forums/topic/introduce-yourselves-new-member-thread/

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil. This includes no philosophy, no home computer culture wars.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Question of the week:

    • Why is Orkzes best?

And now back to the show.

Pledge: continue thinning my pile. Already flogged all my Star Wars Legion, and a Zona Alfa “every model for every scenario” set. All in 24 hours! Feels good.

Orks is da best because if you don’t believe dey are den you will get crumped. Simple as.

And now, a musical interlude from the finest group of Philadelphia punk rockers, let’s hear it for THE DEAD MILKMEN!

My orcs are grey and Tolkien. Don’t like GW orks.

I liked GW Orks best when they were more cartoonish and had their unique clans.
Things like Blood Axes playing ‘nice’ with Imperial Guard always made me smile.

When I rediscovered 40k and wanted to like the supposedly ‘streamlined’ 8th edition I was dissappointed when the Ork codex was as boring as the space marine codex. It didn’t feel Orky. It felt like a reskinned space marine army. Fearing the same thing would happen to the Eldar I kind of got bored. Never mind the rules bloat that followed the initial release.

    Anyways … enough GW negativity.

There’s the Marauders in the Mantic Firefight/Deadzone setting, which technically are really smart Orks. One day I will paint mine and they will not be green, because that’s the standard colour and I’d rather have them be more distinct. Maybe a pale blue/grey ?

Vikings have arrived … all I need to do is verify I got all of the things. I really wished there was a packing manifest and a checklist on this one.

I was supposed to get a second package for my joyride kickstarter (wooden tokens), but apparently they’re soo ‘busy’ that they’ve had to change delivery time a second time … and I may be getting it next week (that’s practically 2 weeks after the original planned date for something that supposedly fit in the mailbox).

Local neighborhood is doing something halloween-related on thursday. I’m not sure if I should decorate my house or not.
Previous owners had kids, so if kids from the neighborhood are used to there being candy they may be disappointed. I’ve made sure to have something at home to give should they try and ring my bell even if I don’t put the sign up, because I doubt kids will check for that unless their parents are with them. It’s weird to have an American themed thing, but I don’t want to be a grinch either as kids should have fun (and free candy).

    Iz quiet in here …

    everyone busy with Orktober ?

or doing some terrain related things ?

    What about Halloween ?
I think it’s becoming a thing now … (probably because of America and because lighting a big pile of wood on fire and watching an ancient Roman soldier handout half of his cape to a beggar isn’t as fun as ghosts).

My neighbour told me that last year there were almost a hundred kids knocking on doors.
So now I’m going to have to improvise something quick like.

It’s REALLY quiet on here. Also on LAF. Everywhere.

    Do not know why.

I’m in a personal rut, sleeping 82% of the day and not giving a crap about much. Just getting out of the house is painful.

I’ve also been trying to purge a huge swath of my hobby collection in the hope that I can find focus on what’s left.

Despite getting a new awesome guitar from my partner for Christmas (early), I haven’t even found the desire to play.

    It’s the dark season.

    Batteries drained.

    Motivation low.

@grantinvanman there’s weekends where all I want to do is sleep. Holidays tend to be the worst for me.
For some reason I only do stuff when my holiday is almost done and my sleeping schedule is f*cked.

It helps to have a goal of sorts.

The week started by fucking up sleep schedule due to DST adjustments. So I’m awake “an hour early” now. That also means it’s dark on my way to work and on the way home. I really only want to curl into the cave and make a bear-like hibernation.

On the positive side tomorrow is a holiday and Friday I have the day of!

    For now: more coffee.

Got to work today to find my work partner had been busy… not my birthday until next week, but I’m on leave and she wasn’t going to let me get away with 60 without notice…

There was also an inflatable zimmer frame, inflatable walking stick (with a slow puncture) and cake with enough candles to be a fire hazard…

DST is this weekend in Canada. I like the fall back, don’t like the spring forward.

    Happy 60th 8th!
