    ### Start of shameless copy & paste ###

Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

    ### End of shameless copy & paste ###

Happy Friday and Hello Mr Sundancer

Really scorching weather here in the UK at the moment so some music to suit that…

Hobby pledge – I’m thinking of painting something special from Warcradle this week

I was really well behaved last week and painted all 8 of the German Archers that I intended to do so its a bit of a treat this week.

    The questions –

    Did you notice the badge?

    Love the Badge!

Do you want any special thing/theme/topic on the next uHH?

Dwarf tossing :p In seriousness some more about your grandfather.

You may in fact find this interesting, my girlfriends grandfather was in Bomber command. This is an email from her Auntie concerning him.

Hi Anna, this is a photo of the photo of your grandad, Tom Spencer, who you never met, getting his pilots wings in WW2. The wings are in the photo frame at the bottom. The last raid he went on was a few weeks before, on Heligoland which was an island off the German coast which was a military installation with a massive flak battery that had been battering them as they went past for ages.
On VE day 1945 he was stationed on an airfield in Lincolnshire and they made a huge bonfire of everything that was not nailed down and plenty of aviation fuel. One man came back from the village on a bicycle and hurled it onto the fire and they saw the tyres burning

    Who drank my coffee!?

You drank it, come on admit it.

    Have a great weekend 🙂

    • Did you notice the badge?

Only after I saw a few people shouting about it. Nice touch. I think. I don’t know.

    • Do you want any special thing/theme/topic on the next uHH?

Sticking to latest hobby entries makes more sense to me. Firstly, it might act as a kick in the pants for those of us who need such motivation to get stuff done. It also answers the question “what do I need to do to get my stuff featured??” –  just do some work on it and blog away!

    • Who drank my coffee!?

I gulped a whole flask of coffee of the beach this afternoon. The sun was out, the breeze was light, but the sea was f@*king freezing! No, it didn’t warm me up. But it helped. Had I been able to reach yours, I’d have had away with it too.

Pledges – I printed some not-Lord-of-the-Rings minis last night, just to keep the smell of resin and IPA fresh in my workshop. I figured they’d be perfect to try out some quick painting techniques; I’ve given myself 90 mins per mini so I guess I’d better get them done before next weekend….

Have we had this one yet?

I’d forgotten how much I liked Terrorvision. Back to the 90s!

hmmm weekend … and an extra long one too

    1) Did you notice the badge?

Yep … I saw them before it was mentioned in Discord what they were.
    They’re cute.

    2) Do you want any special thing/theme/topic on the next uHH?
    a Westphalia showcase ? 😉

    3) Who drank my coffee!?

your mirror version from a dark future without coffee ? 😀

Pledge-wise I think I hope a bit of progress on my Rattenkrieg Soviets+Germans.

I love my Photon printer. It’s been neglected in recent weeks, but it’s just there, patiently waiting to spring into life when called upon. I made a print. I printed a thing.  I printed a few things. For no other reason than the smell of resin and IPA had finally completely faded from inside my workshop and it just didn’t feel right. So I set this running last night and cleaned them up this morning.

    20200529_100624_HDR

So I printed these not-LOTR minis.

    20200529_103617_HDR

So here’s generic pointy-hatted-wizard with beard, oversized armour clad baddie with scary facemask, long-haired elf with cloak, generic small guy with hairy feet, bog-standard human in leather armour and non-descript female witch holding potion. All pretty generic, standard, absolutely non-rights-infringing characters ready to take on a quest in median-earth.

(in all seriousness, my wife has shown absolutely no interest in my 3d printing of late, as it’s all been sci-fi/cyber punk related; she loves LOTR and on seeing these come off the build plate, was heard to say – about the wraith lord I think – “that’s a seriously bad-assed lump of resin”. She finally took an interest in my hobby! Wooo. Maybe we’re on an upward trajectory for our second twenty years….)

That’s me sorted for mini painting for the next few weeks.

    1. I did, indeed, notice the badges.

    2. Fezzes, obviously.

    3. I don’t drink coffee, so don’t look at me.

This week I think I’ll try painting a Bolt Action British 2nd Lt. I have lying around primed. But we’ll see. I’ll be trying to think of a good way to set up a general project log in a nice, easy to look at way.

On the topic of the fez…

Why should I want to annoy Gerry? That’s what the audience is for! 😉

    Hails all,

Pretty late now but I’ve just finished watching the Weekender while throwing down some washes on my five Skitarii Vanguard. They’re still not assembled yet so just clumps of semi-painted bits right now. Tomorrow I’ll get some detailing done and then glue them into more workable sub-assemblies, might be something worth taking a progress pic of then.

Aside from that I’ve been falling back in love with the Kill Team rulebook. I can build kill Teams from multiple armies I have so I really need to get some scatter terrain painted up. I have heaps of it in boxes and I need to just start grinding through it. Basic paint jobs and weathering galore.

Music today was all over the place.

So I finally bit the bullet and just ordered the replacement paints I needed… Can’t do much without my brown shade, sadly… The shipping cost on GW is insane, though. I had to order $40 worth of stuff just to make it viable… Now we wait. It might mess up my painting plans while I wait, but there’s a few experiments I am wanting to try with a few minis, so there’s that. 😛

the one reason I dislike webshops : I always buy ‘too much’ in order to either qualify for ‘free shipping’ or minimize the impact of shipping costs.

Even in regular shops I often think of the money I spent getting there to justify buying ‘moar stuff’, because when travelling costs 10-20 Euro it doesn’t make sense to buy one pot of paint or a single mini …

I received more hobby supplies Socially distance keeping hand delivered by my flgs.

    Set of Army Painter brushes

    Dark, strong and soft tones

    Uniform grey rattle can

And the citadel spray stick. Sadly since my last picture I’ve had to splint up my left hand too. I just about managed to assemble some easy build Stormcast but that’s about it.
