Close the curtains and stay inside!

    ### Start of shameless copy & paste ###

Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

    ### End of shameless copy & paste ###

    Questions of the week:

    • Are you ok?
    • Do you need anything really badly?
    • Can we (the OTTer OTTers) help you?

    • yes, I think so.
    • Time off, a holiday…. or some drinks.
    • Don’t turn off the discord and keep up the spirits.

And now it’s back to work for me.

This weeks pledge is to play the next chapter of Tainted Grail and to continue working on Zacharias. I might struggle a bit this week though:

    Questions of the week:

    1. Are you ok? – My partner woke up this morning with fever, headache and aching joints. I’ve had headache, aches and chest pains for about a day, which I had been dismissing as stress related. Not looking good.
    2. Do you need anything really badly? – Nope, we’re well stocked for now.
    3. Can we (the OTTer OTTers) help you? – Not that I can think of.

I got me a lightbox. I was told it’d help take really good photos of my minis.

    IMG_0126

while undoubtedly, the finished image is a better *photograph* it doesn’t half show up all the areas that need attention! I guess that’s what separates the “good” painters from the “average”? (taking the time to go back and correct the little things)

Pledges this week are to keep on keeping on. I’ve got some electronics-y stuff I need to finish but I also don’t want to spend every waking hour in my workshop, so maybe this week will be when I finally slap some paint onto Jabba The Hutt?

    jabba

Yep, this photo was taken before my lightbox arrived 😉

Ok, that’s the pledge – to play about with contrast paints and wet blending and all that other stuff I don’t really like doing to get a half-decent colour for Jabba. That done, on with the questions:

    1. doing ok. Both terrified that this could all be over and I have to go back to work before I’ve done everything I want to get done and also that it could drag on for months and I’m already going a little stir crazy…

    2. I just want to be able to go back to my favourite beach-side cafe and sit outside in the sun amongst others, taking in the view, chatting with friends or reading the papers and just watching the world go by. The nice weather here in the UK is starting to hit home how isolating isolation really is!

    3. Not yet, but soon!

Pledge: To get plasticard cut and more bases made.

Security work has been taking up most of my waking hours so I’m getting downtime when I can. The confirmed cases here of kung flu at this shelter for homeless suspected of infection has jumped. My frustration with staff and policies has grown at a rate relative to it. I’m reminded of past military training related to infection control in a med unit, vet tech study for lab animal care and clean room procedures for some security posts and I shake my head. Good practice can only go so far without better equipment.

    • I think I’m going alright physically. Things are a bit hairy with one of the gf’s kidneys and the work environment is dicey so the other aspects of me are a bit frazzled.
    • I think I badly need a nap, uninterrupted hobby time and some hardcore distraction in gaming for a while. In the meantime, until that happens again, I have you chummers to commiserate with.
    • Keeping open channels and back and forth banter helps me right now.

My spirit isn’t worn down completely so I’ll post this Dick pic that is safe for the boards.

It’s Monday yet again… I don’t know if it’s just spring time and time adjustment that’s messing with me or if the whole situation is starting to get to me but my sleep cycles have been bad the last couple of days. If my ramblings seem inconsistent and badly worded: my apologies.

For now: more work and coffee. Stay safe everybody 😉

Hello Otters. Sorry I’ve been AWOL for a while.

    1. My house is still Covid-19 free and we follow the government advice religiously. Sadly I can work from home so I’m doing that. Its financial year end so I’m working harder than usual. Getting nagged to hell as well. Great. Oh and my oven has broke and you can just imagine the fun of getting someone out currently..

    2. See above.

    3. If I think of something I’ll be sure to let you know.

    Pledge, continue assembling my Repulsor.

Wow. Quiet in here this week. I guess most people being at home means we’re all even busier than usual! I’ve been up to my eyeballs in electronics this week, so not much time for hobby. However, I’m determined to get some paint onto Jabba the Hutt to meet my pledge, and it looks like I’ve only 48 hours to do it….
