    ### Start of shameless copy & paste ###

Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

    ### End of shameless copy & paste ###

    Questions of the week:

    • Are you feeling ok?
    • Do you need our help?
    • Are you part of the illuminati?

Pledge: To finish, this week, four of the commission pieces I have.. the fifth is pretty bad 1970s dragon that is a crap sculpt. I’ll post before and after of the dragon.

I’m feeling good. Business has rolled me over to an admin position and I’m doing research for current projects. Aside from that minis are getting painted.

I think the help you guys give is pretty good for morale if I feel a little down (upcoming amusement will be had, just wait for it).

I am not part of the Illuminati. The last time I played that kind of role I was going through the second Deus Ex game on pc (the ones before console porting)

So STILL working on those Aggressors… I swear they will be done at some point… I might change those plasma coils on my Redepmtor and if I can finish these damn marines I might switch to a bit of Bolt Action for a while…we’ll see…

    As for questions…

    1. Well I’m upright, so that’s a start.

    2. Can we do social distancing lobotomies? Is that possible? 😛

    3. Nope. I’m with the Unluminati.

Can we do social distancing lobotomies? Is that possible?

Yes. Is it legal? I doubt that somehow XD

    I’m feeling good.

    That’s great to hear @horati0nosebl0wer

@sundancer Baby steps. Let’s start with the practicalities before we get on to the legal jargon. 😛

    #1526862

Woohoo! I just picked up some JTT plastic ferns on O scale at 1″ diameter and they are great for a display base I’ve had on the backburner for years now. I will order more in HO scale at 5/8″. I’m still partial to the idea of getting some of the palm trees featured on a video from Luke’s APS if the price is better and just build ferns.

@sundancer Of course its legal. Bill it as a public service for the preservation of public order. I know that you could spice it up with some juggling beforehand if you want to call it public entertainment.

@crazyredcoat Hmm distance lobotomies… does that involve finely developed throwing skills?

@horati0nosebl0wer I’m thinking long distance augers attached to an egg whisker. Seems practical enough… 😛

So I did promise some sort of picture update, so I thought I’d oblige. This is actually the Aggressor I have gotten the furthest with, but the Sergeant (maybe Veteran Sergeant, I’m not sure yet…) will be the focus of my project post for the painting guide…which I swear I will finish at some point… 😛

I also just randomly decided to add some appropriate tattoos to my only painted Escher ganger, Svetlana, for my gang called The Valkyries. I know the badge on the cloth isn’t a tattoo, but you get the idea. I may also need to fix up some odd white marks around that one with some purple paint… Or I might leave it as ‘damage’ or ‘chem burns’ from whatever she used to put the symbol on. 😛 I though of adding one to the face, but she’s only a juve and I have limited Space Wolf decals. 😛

So I got bored at 3am… I decided to add two new tattoos to my Escher…and then decided I could try some makeup… So ignore the clown face (that’s going to need fixing now…).

This is very much NOT the Aggressors…but hey, we all get distracted sometimes…

This weeks pledge is to finish my Ghouls (almost managed it last week – just one more colour to apply to the bases today) and have my first game of Arena: the contest (again almost managed it last week – all my time was spent popping out card stock and putting cards into sleeves).

    1. Are you feeling ok? – Getting used to the situation now.
    2. Do you need our help? – I really look forward to the unofficial hobby hangout every week so you’re already helping a lot.
    3. Are you part of the illuminati? – I wouldn’t know anything about that…

Need to pick a smaller project next.

    Hails all,

Far too long since I’ve taken part in one of these (the distant days of Unclejimmy and Mage hosting) but with all the free time I have on my hands I decided I had no excuses anymore. Plus, I’m back painting (semi-)regularly so I at least have stuff to show.

Pledge first: At the start of the year I set myself the target of getting a 2,000pt army together for 40k in 12 months. I’ve had multiple armies on the go for years but because I add units to them in such a scattered schedule, they’ve ended up a real mix of standards. I have Dark Angels painted for 3rd edition rubbing shoulders with Primaris Hellblasters etc. So this army was a challenge to paint more consistently and to a common tabletop standard. I also wanted a paint scheme I hadn’t tried before and one I needed to use my airbrush for. I have it ages and have never used it for more than basecoats because I’m scared of it.

Start of the year was a bit of a write-off due to my personal life taking a bit of a kicking but things are finally back on track and I’m aiming for 1,000pts painted by the end of June. The army I chose was Adeptus Mechanicus and so far I have two Onager Dunecrawlers done and have just finished some Sicarian Infiltrators. I went with a colour scheme based on the Knight House Hawkshroud as I wanted my Admech army to play the part of a garrison seconded to the House by Mars. There are three Knights in various stages of assembly waiting too…

So my pledge (after that long-winded intro) is to work on a squad of Skitarii Rangers. So far the yellow has been mostly done and other basecoats are going down too. I basecoat in sub-assemblies before gluing them together for detail work and weathering. So not much to look at yet.

    IMG_20200516_173749

    The finished Dunecrawlers.

    IMG_20200316_083647IMG_20200316_083638

    Sicarian Infiltrators.

    IMG_20200514_183153

There’s a squad of Skitarii Vanguard, a Techpriest Dominus and some Kastelan Robots left to pad out the first half of the army. All in various stages of basecoating/assembly.

    Questions:

    1. Feeling good now I’m being productive again. I’ve been off work since mid March and while I have done quite a bit of work for the RPG group I run, too many days have been spent with Netflix or the PS4.

    2. Possibly with some painting tips, especially from anyone that uses an airbrush. Still feeling my way along with that one.

    3. I was but most of us have been furloughed. We’ll see how “Non-Essential” we are when governments are left to run themselves!

    @horati0nosebl0wer

Did you ever try any of the Deus Ex games on console? I loved Human Revolution. Still have Mankind Divided on the ‘To Play’ list though.

    @crazyredcoat

Escher looks good mate, I have a heap of Necromunda stuff sat aside crying out for attention. At least you tried with the make-up, I once destroyed a whole squad of Space marine scouts with camo paint over faces I had originally been quite happy with.

    @danlee

Love the Ghouls. I never played Warhammer Fantasy or AoS but I’v always loved all the Undead factions. I’ve spent over 100 hours on a Total War: Warhammer 2 campaign with the Von Carsteins.

Finally, a mix of things that have been blasting through the house recently.
