    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    Introduce yourselves (New member thread)

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Questions:

    • Is today a religious holiday in your life or just a day off?
    • Have you ever been to the sea?
    • Easter Traditions: do you hide eggs and presents or just eat and do nothing?

And now back to the show.

My pledge for this weekend is not to kill any relatives 😉

    Answers:

    • Technically it’s a religious day but I couldn’t care less… it’s a free day!
    • Yes, going to the north sea every now and then. The air is just so good for my nose and lungs as someone with hey fever and all…
    • A bit of hiding little surprises for the daughter. Other then that: visiting all the relatives :S

So this weekend I’ll be very absent 😉

    Happy Friday.

My pledge is to work on the starter set for the new Sláine miniatures game. I’ve got all of the miniatures cleaned and glued to their bases. Hope to start painting them tomorrow.

Is today a religious holiday in your life or just a day off?

I’m not religious at all and my day off happens to be a Friday anyway, so it’s just another day off for me. Saying that I’ve just come home back from the parents where we ordered fish and chips.

Have you ever been to the sea?

I live two miles from the sea so I’m there quite often. It’s a nice walk along there.

Easter Traditions: do you hide eggs and presents or just eat and do nothing?

Nope nothing. I don’t really do Easter.

We don’t talk about it. Right? 😉

    • Have you ever been to the sea?

I live about two minutes bike ride from the sea. I’m there all the time. I was there just an hour or so ago – just got back, in fact, and my tummy is still full from an oat latte and a 99 I had while at the seaside. Being by the sea is awesome! Roll on the warmer months, when we can go in without fear of hypothermia (my wife is already trying to get me to go swimming this bank holiday weekend).

Easter Traditions: do you hide eggs and presents or just eat and do nothing?

I wouldn’t have known it was Easter until my new workmates said “see you Tuesday” in our last video call. Well, about half of them did – the other half said their Easter wasn’t ’til next week. I didn’t even know that was a thing! I know Easter moves around from year to year, but I  presumed everyone agreed to hold it on the same weekend!

Lots of chocolate will be consumed. That’s nothing to do with it being Easter – just the weekend 😉

    Pledge?

I got me some cartoon Transformer STLs off a dodgy guy on Facebook (I think I already said that, last weekend). Maybe if I pledge to get the few I’ve painted based and finished, it’ll inspire me to actually do it? Nah, I didn’t think so either.

Here’s some noisy music for you. But still quite melodic

    Hi folks
Long weekend ahead … should be able to do some hobby, right ?

    • Is today a religious holiday in your life or just a day off?
It is a ‘religious’ day, but it’s not a day off unless you’re still at school or work for the government.
    • Have you ever been to the sea?
I have seen the sea once. Does that count ?
    • Easter Traditions: do you hide eggs and presents or just eat and do nothing?

As kids we did paint eggs, but since we never liked eating them afterwards my parents had to eat them all 😀
My mum used to do make breakfast, lunch and dinner a bit special on easter sunday (mostly due to the eggs) and we all got chocolate bunnies or eggs as a gift. It’s weird to think about it now, because it’s the first easter without her for all of us.
Must admit that I hadn’t really thought about all the things we used to do as a family and how/if we should continue to do them with her gone.

Life goes on so must we.

Hobby wise I have plenty to choose from, including the private project of mine that needs an update.

This also gave me a moment over think what I do hobby wise :
    OPR 8 Year Anniversary!

We need more happy thoughts :

@sundancer just tell them that you still got the Corona 😉
Or are they one of those *beeps* that think it’s an illusion ?

This weeks pledge is yet more tiny elves.

    • Is today a religious holiday in your life or just a day off? – Purely a bank holiday as far as I’m concerned.
    • Have you ever been to the sea? – Yep, being in the UK the sea is never that far away.
    • Easter Traditions: do you hide eggs and presents or just eat and do nothing? – We give our daughters eggs but they’re getting a bit old for egg hunts now.

It looks like I might be playing my first game of Sláine next weekend. I mentioned it to the lads during a hobby hangout on Saturday and they suggested that we play it next week. It’s a little earlier than I was expecting but by then I’ll have a basic paint job on all of the starter set miniatures.

Also this morning I had another Five Leagues from the Borderlands game. It was close but I managed to just about pull off a victory.

Ha, now I’m juggling two projects at the same time.

    It’s Monday.

I was at the great outdoors.

It was horrible. Sun, people and fresh air!

Slaine is suffering from a weird re-routing/delay thingy …  (reported in Cologne and now currently near Schiphol)
Considering the complete route it looks like it has flown over my house twice …
I do hope there aren’t any further delays.

And in other news … my Firefight order is tracking too. Not sure when it will arrive, but it’s UPS so I’m not too worried (unless the local delivery driver is an idiot … )

Maybe they’re sending him by sky chariot and the drune helmsman has got a little lost ?

When I don’t get my Bot War you don’t get your Slaine! 😉

Part of me feels like painting 10mm is “cheating” as they can be so quick to paint. But then I tell myself there just aren’t any 28mm squads I want to paint right now and I have to give 10mm a try sometime. To be fair Forest Spirits aren’t the best example as at any scale you can just paint them brown with a few details.

It’s not cheating. It’s a dopamine rush you can reach easy 😉
