    @robert great stuff!

    @buggeroff You know your limit. That is a plus. I’ve never taken up sailing but the mini world has forced me to go into nautical accessories from aspects of other model builds. I never thought I’d string twisted wire “lines” through block and tackle assemblies to make mini rigging. I do not suggest it so anyone who isn’t a stickler for detail.

    @evilstu That’s not hinting by the Hobby gods to stop, they’re throwing in tests of will to your dedication. The trials of Hercules were far more ridiculous. If somebody were crazy enough (or had the figures already from certain companies) then they too would paint Hercules and all the beasts he had to face. I, for one, am not that man. Hooray for Slaanesh!

    @blinky465 Cooking by technique is just as reliable to mini painting… wait… maybe not. As far as bases and faces I agree wholeheartedly with Squirrelmaster @avernos. My strength is the former as I strive to get better with faces. I don’t go the route of black-lining the sclera but it might need to become part of my process. Seeing the eyes on the 4” tall oni from Alternative Armies made me think that I needed to add in discernable pupils and light reflection dots. All of this is a future thought as I have an idea for a gorilla model that’d be modded akin to the transfer art for an old MtG card I bought at a convention.

    @crazyredcoat I agree that staying true to color palette by historical versus game color is important. That’s the whole reason why Vallejo breaks down to their Model and Game lines for airbrushing. I’d say that was the impetus for their mecha line too. Its good to get the back and forth crossing of some colors too as shades to game from model as I’m doing now with my base and some foliage.

    @robert Just a tip for future minis, stripes and plaid do not mix. I will stress that ever so much so that you can have your tiny fighting men be fashion forward. I don’t think that houndstooth was quite “in” in the Dark Ages and we can all agree that paisley was just right out. Pastels, earth tones, etc.. blah blah blah… ok I’m done. I was about to try and be witty in adding a few videos of drag queens and all sorts of fashionistas but then I started the screening process. I got through no more than 10 seconds of the first and promptly pulled an about-face. I am not a fashionable male nerd. I will impress people with my skill in making tiny things look cool and spend my hard-earned money on items useful to that end. Ugh, I feel a little dirty with the amount of glitter, eyeliner and bronze toner that blasted my brain beyond the flurry of polyester, charmeuse and jacquard (nevermind the tulle). Here we go… some manliness with Weird Al… maybe

    You can’t just go around saying ‘ni’ after Robert’s name like that… It’s rude!

    Productive enough this evening while watching Laughingboy’s stream on Twitch.  Still need to paint the shield on the Noble and find shields for the topless dudes.

    Some work was done on my Luftwaffe officer! I’ll be adding a post to my project with some reference images, but here’s what I’ve done so far. I was going to do the helmet in the Luftwaffe colours, too, but I don’t have the right hemlet decals, so this will be ‘borrowed’ from the Heer.

    Expect the project post in the next day or so; bit inebriated to deal with it right now…
