### Start of shameless copy & paste ###
Read all of this before you start as it will save any trouble later.
First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.
You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.
If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.
A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.
Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.
Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)
And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv
### End of shameless copy & paste ###
Questions of the week:
- Who is your favourite Batman actor?
- Who is your favourite Joker actor?
- Which Batmobile is your favourite?
June 19, 2020 at 2:07 pm #1541001- Adam West
- Jack Nicholson
- The Lincoln Futura-based Batmobile as seen in the 1960s Batman TV series

And remember: I said favourite, not “who’s the best” 😉
June 19, 2020 at 2:17 pm #1541009I can’t commit to a pledge just yet – but it will likely be this little pile of shame here…
Learning how to pull off Radio Ga Ga has been chewing up some time lol.
Who is your favourite Batman actor? Michael Keaton
Who is your favourite Joker actor? Joaquin Phoenix
Which Batmobile is your favourite?
June 19, 2020 at 3:09 pm #15410351. Adam West
2. Never thought about it before… but the guy from the TV show.
3. TV Show
Pledge is to paint more Celts – if you want it more precise, I’ve 5 nobles and 6 javelin men that I primed this morning I would like to get finished.
Music – Are you ready to Doom dance??? All hail the Messiah!
June 19, 2020 at 3:25 pm #1541043Happy-almost-weekend!
Who is your favourite Batman actor?
Adam West of course. Though I remember as a child when we got our first colour telly. As a tiny tot, I used to watch the black-and-white Batman episodes on a Saturday morning (the ones which almost always ended with him tied to a tablesaw or about to go under the wheels of a locamotive some equally horrific cliff-hanger). We got our colour telly at around about the same time that Saturday morning Batman went from the B&W to 60s Adam West version; to this day I never accepted Burt Ward as Robin – in my head, he still has curly hair and a wavy quiff!
Who is your favourite Joker actor?
Heath Ledger was brilliantly unhinged.
Which Batmobile is your favourite?
I quite liked the 1989 version but in all honesty, it’s got to be the 60s Lincoln one.
In other news, I learned to embrace, rather than continually fight against, my comic-style of painting. I showed these to my wife (who is a bit older than me). She said “they’re cute”. I showed my little sister (who is much younger than me). She said “nice work”. I showed my friends and ex-classmates and finally got the reaction I was hoping for “OMFG! Day of The Tentacle! That game was frigging awesome!”
Pledge? Well, I finished my gang of cyber n’er-do-wells. I painted these in a single evening, using a number-2 sized brush exclusively (my wife “attends” online art classes where the challenge is to complete a piece of work inside three hours – I tried to do something similar but had to be happy with “finished in a day instead of taking three months over it”). I still haven’t quite mastered contrast paints, so it’ll have to be something using those. Or maybe this weeks’ pledge is to make/paint some terrain for my little tiny guys to fight over?
I think this week’s pledge is to make some terrain. Then maybe I’ll finally manage to get a couple of herberts to join me online to play a game!
Music…. this is timeless.
June 19, 2020 at 6:02 pm #1541100Hello peeps!
1) My favourite batman changes on a weekly basis. Currently it’s Iain Glenn from Titans.
2) For The Joker it will always be Mark Hamill. When I read batman if the jokers voice isn’t Mark Hamill’s then the writer is getting it wrong.
3) my favourite Batmobike is probably the one in Batman Arkham Knight game. Its the Batmobike AND a tank. Awesome.Pledges are to continue to work on my Clone Troopers. Actually enjoying doing them, may even pop on photos this weekend.
My main hobby is trying to find some stupid clones for sale somewhere. Sheesh. It’s like FFG don’t want our money! Also looking forward to the big Mantic battle tomorrow, Ronnie’s Dwarves vs Rob Burman’s Goblins. The build up has been great.
Other than that I’m awaiting the price of the new 40k Not a starter set at all. Kind of hard to budget especially knowing I really need to preorder Arc troopers and Padme.Music time.
Can never go wrong with Lana Del Rey.
June 19, 2020 at 6:58 pm #1541118This week’s pledge is another unit or two of Adeptus Mechanicus. Last week’s models were finished last night. Project entry here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1427037/#snav
- Who is your favourite Batman actor? – Christian Bale
- Who is your favourite Joker actor? – Jack Nicholson “Where does he get those wonderful toys?”
- Which Batmobile is your favourite? – Tumbler (also doubles as a battle tank)
June 19, 2020 at 8:00 pm #1541130Okay…so I guess I’m a bit out of my depth with the questions here… Never been a big super hero chap. Only comic I really read was the Dandy and the Beano. Are those even a thing, still?
1. Adam We, but mainly because of my Mum growing up with that era of Batman, plus the way Adam West just was about the role.
2. The only one I really know is Heath Ledger. And that only sticks with my mind because of my cynical attitude and a high school history class…
3. I guess the Adam West one? Maybe?
Like I said, not a big fan of super hero films…
Well I finished my horse last week, just in time for a final Spring Clean Post, and I will probs move on to the rider next. Still haven’t gotten him primed, but it is so damn hot here right now that my lethargic stint is just getting worse. Oh well. Such is life!
June 19, 2020 at 8:13 pm #1541133@blinky465 those are minis for the re-relase of DOTT… they are not pixelated enough for the original 😉
June 19, 2020 at 8:40 pm #1541134Absolutely – remastered edition. Maybe I should have printed them on a Photon Zero 😉 (a little in-joke for all you 3d printer types out there).
June 19, 2020 at 9:30 pm #1541156Questions of the week:
Who is your favourite Batman actor? Michael Keaton
Who is your favourite Joker actor? Mark Hamill
Which Batmobile is your favourite? Animated SeriesOtherwise gonna paint a Ogroid Thaumaturge and my Stormcast this weekend (the latter doubled in size thanks to Mortals Magazine).
Recently painted the graveyard I got from the magazines (so repainted my existing set so ti all matches), and the Godsworn Hunt as the barbarians/chaos are not very chaos like so make good generic heroes for Soulbound.
Speaking of rpgs last weekend was busy as I was running a game for Onyx Path Con, and for Soulbound, Cities of Flame is out which I wrote two scenarios for.
June 19, 2020 at 9:33 pm #1541157Spent this evening cleaning up more minis and getting some primer onto them. The weekender going out at 8pm is a good time to get some hobby done. I’ll finish watching the show tomorrow as I am a tired wee boy this evening. Also added a little bit of grass to the bases of last week’s pledge and will add them to their project log tomorrow.
Music – More Doom…
June 19, 2020 at 10:12 pm #1541165No hobby for me tonight. Just watching weekender and wrapping presents for my daughter. She turns 9 tomorrow so you won’t see me over the day… but in the evening…
June 19, 2020 at 10:23 pm #1541166Tough questions as I’m pretty ‘meh’ about Batman.
1. Favourite Batman? Keaton or Bale I guess
2. Joker? Heath Ledger
3. Batmobile? Probably Keaton’s one.
As for a pledge, continuing to work on some small highlanders.
