### Start of shameless copy and paste ###
First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…
https://www.beastsofwar.com/forums/topic/introduce-yourselves-new-member-thread/
https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/
Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.
First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.
You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.
If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.
A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil. This includes no philosophy, no home computer culture wars.
Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.
Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)
And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv
### End of shameless copy and paste ###
Question of the week:
- Is there anything hobby related that you are looking forward to in 2025?
And now back to the show.
January 4, 2025 at 11:23 am #1910290Pledge: paint my Murderteddies and Leviathan.
I look forward to:
- Hamburg Tactica
- more factions for Armoured Clash
- my Battletech Mercs Kickstarter (Har, har… har… *sobs*)
- playing more different games
and now music:
January 4, 2025 at 2:33 pm #1910316Pledge ? More work on my hobby room. (and probably unpacking boxes because 95% of my stuff is now still in boxes after the move 😀 )
Looking forward to :
- Epic Warpath
- Port Royal
- the new kickstarter for the Dropzone/fleet universe
- doing some actual hobby
Battletech Mercs is more like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I do hope I get that big mech when my stuff arrives, but my joy of playing has gone subzero at the moment.
More Music :
January 4, 2025 at 2:36 pm #1910317Pledge: start my Necrons commission
Looking forward to: Battletech Mercenaries pre-order; Gundam project; Marvel project
Music:
January 4, 2025 at 3:38 pm #1910342Pledge to do some hobby as it’s my week off. It will probably involve my Dad’s Army game even though tomorrow’s first game is cancelled due to 2 out of 3 players being ill. I may also try putting lights in my mdf buildings.
As for 2025…
I’ve got two kickstarters due… 7TV Fantasy and Discworld RPG.
Great Escape Games release of Dead Man’s Hand – The Bad.
I’d be willing to bet money on Crooked Dice releasing miniatures that I just have to buy.
Looking forwards to National Spending Spree day… or UK Games Expo as others call it.
Nothing else comes to mind, but I’m sure something will catch my eye.
January 4, 2025 at 4:25 pm #1910343This week’s pledge is to resume painting, once my usual programming also resumes (I paint as I watch various Youtube programs).
Is there anything hobby related that you are looking forward to in 2025? – I tend to not pay attention to what’s coming, and just react as things release.
@sundancer Nice new avatar.

Well that’s a low hanging bar. CD do great stuff.
Nice new avatar.
You noticed? Thank you. Thought I might lighten up the mood here 8)
January 4, 2025 at 5:00 pm #1910345Pledge: Get photos of the work done on my present army.
- Stuff I look forward to:
- Finally finishing these Greeks
- Upcoming convention attendance
- Starting the Chinese
- Getting most recent 3D sculpting for the Koreans completed
- Maybe actually playing games(?)
@sundancer What happened to the only slightly psychotic looking Pundancer? Now you just look odd
@limburger Carrying over from last thread, yes there was more on a KS for additional content. Altogether the game might be the one way I slip into Napoleonics. I have an idea of putting together The Blindingly Brilliant League of Parsnips.
@grantinvanman Love Death and Gundam?
@danlee A small side of input during the painting process, sounds ok by me too .
Now to start off the horror of music madness in a new year
January 4, 2025 at 5:26 pm #1910346forgot about that Crooked dice kickstarter … and the recent news update with that totally not-Tim look-a-like Necromancer.
Focus damn it … I need focus.
@pagan8th and there will be female mounted cowboys too …
And there goes my attempt at no longer buying into kickstarters this year. I hadn’t realised so many cool things were on the horizon. (Reichbusters getting a revision/update … should be fun)
January 4, 2025 at 5:35 pm #1910347@horati0nosebl0wer haha! Best version of War Pigs, ever!
Sigur Battle Brush was the inspiration for the Gundam project – https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=147697.0
Two screen caps of his awesome work below.
He uses a set of rules called Battle Suit Alpha from Wiley Games (Fistful of Lead) https://wiley-games.myshopify.com

I ate him
January 5, 2025 at 9:23 am #1910353January 5, 2025 at 12:36 pm #1910356New short term goal. Possibly having my first game of SW Legion on thursday using the core box which means the old rules as I can’t be arsed to print out the new cards and rules as they’d look crap on my b&w printer.
That means painting the rest of the minis and gluing the riders on.
For an SW RPG I did buy a few extra bits when someone was selling them off, but I painted them (except for pilots). That would be the Speeder Truck and Landspeeder. Also bought an extra set of speederbikes and some etsy rebels.
Does anyone know if the legion boxes still come with profile cards and if they are for original rules or the new 2.6 version?
January 5, 2025 at 12:41 pm #1910357Does anyone know if the legion boxes still come with profile cards and if they are for original rules or the new 2.6 version?
All boxes of the old design (basically everything currently in stores except the Crab Droids with the more comic looking design have the proper cards for you. They work for both versions 1 and 2 but 2.6 has gotten new cards which are currently print files to be found at AMG. There was a set of “upgrade cards” announced IIRC but I do not know straight away when they planned to release it. hth
January 5, 2025 at 1:41 pm #1910370Sounds like that no matter what you buy there’s no real way to get the latest stats as a physical product, unless AMG decides to make them available ?
At least with GW games you know what version of the game has the up-to-date stats.
What exactly are the changes between 1, 2 and 2.6 ? Is it more than just point-updates ?
Any way of knowing without hoping the webshops have the correct info ? -
