Late to the party but I’ve got good reason due to hobby. It looks like I’m not the only one who’s busy as of late.

With a couple of units painted and another nearly done I’m getting into gear from seeing my FLGS painting community grow over the weekend. I make a soft target date of finishing my current Harryhausen Hellenics for the weekend of Valentine’s Day when a local con comes around. I might make it; it’ll be close from the special mods to be done.

After that has all been wrapped up, new year new army. I have a question for the thread for what new army to work on.

Do I move on to do Joseon era Koreans or Warring State Chinese? Both will have fantasy elements as I’ll keep hammering out SAGA Age of Magic forces.

My Xbox One is up and running again 🙂
It scared me a bit as the power wouldn’t turn on until I plugged it into the wall socket directly. Not sure why tbh.
Only thing to figure out is how to get audio out as currently the headphone output on my monitor is the only source for both consoles, but that’s for next year (ha!).

Finally got tracking info on my TTCombat order from their black friday sales. I’m not sure if they’re always this slow or if they were busier than normal. Things will arrive next year, which is still faster than my Battletech kickstarter 😀

I hope everyone has counted their fingers, eyes, ears and limbs … ’cause you want to make sure you start next year with the same amount 😉

Next year will initially be spent figuring out which boxes have my hobby bits as we ended up just putting stuff in boxes instead of making inventory. It got things done, but time saved is now extra time needed to unpack. It had to be done, so I’m not worried.

My plans for the rest of 2024…

Maybe a bit of painting on my my Dad’s Army miniatures.

Gather the notes I’ve made over the last few days on my phone together and turn it into an outline of an introductory adventure for Achtung Dad’s Army that will used sometime soon.

    Eat.

Watch something… not sure what yet.

    Sleep until next year…

Can’t believe we are already here.  I like my New Years to be calm and quiet.

I plan on painting some MCP minis (no surprises there) as I am throwing a game party this weekend and would like even more characters to choose from.

Make dinner for my young lady

    Watch a movie or two.

Wish all of the OTTers a safe and happy new years!

For the past 5 years, I have not said what I am going to do, but what I won’t do.  This year is probably the same, maybe – I don’t know.  I won’t start any new miniature games (hopefully), but if I do it will be just one of the following: Carnevale, The Drowned Earth or Moonstone.

As for miniatures, I want to continue painting what I already have, whether it be armies, or dioramas.  Therefore no new armies until I finish my Proxy Ogres (Ogrions), Then I might do Undead or Elves for Kings of War. I have a lot of miniatures for both armies.

I also want to experiment a bit with dioramas and I already have a cool idea – I just need to unbox a container or 15, to find the miniatures I need, that I have stored away somewhere beyond my memory!

Other than that I wish everyone a great new year.

Today is very much like the Bruce Springsteen song ’57 channels’:

There used to be interesting things to watch on tv, like good stand up comedians making fun of all the bits that happened in the year. Looks like they’ve had to scrape the bottom of the barrel and only found mould this year.

Fireworks are already going off … and it’s not even midnight yet.
It’s the only reason I’m not going to bed early today.
Funny, isn’t it ? As a kid staying up past midnight was the event of the year.
    Now it’s ‘meh’ …

    Good morning.

It is 2025 and it’s off to a good start:

    • I forgot to bill a customer in December 2024 (doh! remedied that just now)
    • Played two rounds of Dorfromantik while the teenage daughter still is asleep
    • Had a coffee
    • Trying to catch up to podcasts, blogs and all

    Last night we did:

    • Good food
    • played Barroom Brawl
    • played Dorfromantik
    • played a card game out daughter enjoyed but I forgot the name if the game. Some weird Uno-like “gotcha” game
    • Build my new Tantive IV LEGO set 8)
    • Watched Dinner For One and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
    • Did a tiny amount of fireworks

All fingers are accounted for! Now, where to go next? (Except cleaning up the place)

fireworks starting in the evening and going on until 03:00 … it was crazy.

Not a lot of *kabooms* but more proper fire works that lit up the sky. It was like a warzone with AA going crazy.
I pity the refugees from Ukraine and other warzones that thought there’d be a bit of peace and quiet over here.

I thought the rear wheel of my trike was a bit wobbly … and I was right. Had to tighten the screw a bit and now it is safe to ride again 😀

I will have to build that thing I had in mind to make moving it around a bit easier. I hope my DIY skills are up to the task 🙂

All limbs, eyes, ears and other dangly bits are present and correct.

I watched the German version of Dinner for One, because why not ? It’s a silly little sketch that works in any language I suspect.

Sifu is an incredibly fun and complex beat’em up and it works almost exactly like the Secret Level episode showed.
I got it for free in the Epic Games store.

Mantic showing off teasers for this year :

    (I suspect kickstarters … but we’ll see)

Dinner For One is that weird sketch that germany seems obsessed with. Strange.

Nobody is obsessed with it! We could stop at any time if we wanted to.

We just don’t want to stop.

It’s interesting to see the reaction of different cultures to comedy.

As a child I found the Goodies hilarious, but now it just seems weird.

The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy still amuses me in it’s many forms (except for that awful movie they did a few years ago).

    LastMinis2024

The last minis I finished in 2024 were Angela, Weapon X, an OSCORP chemical truck, and a bones statue.  Turns out I can still paint things that aren’t super powered.
