Yeah, I’d poke my own eyes out than do 100+ of them. Or just do them in such tiny batches that it would take years to get anywhere.

Finished these 12, just waiting on the PVA to dry. I love how stands of 28mm minis look though…

Looking good, @ninjilly ! Yeah I deff couldn’t do all 104…and that’s just the Infantry… I did think of doing grouped minis seeing as at 28mm or smaller you really can’t see the details that differentiate a 1st (Royal Scots) from a 60th (Royal Americans). That’s probably a bad example because of the Rifle Battalions…but the older battalions of the 60th wore red, not green. 😛

 

I did some skin tone experiments over on my project the other day. Going to add some better lighting pictures of the finished look after lunch because the ones I took last night were not good. Also I ought to change the quality of them; when you hit zoom you can see WAY too close…

Went a bit too bright with the highlights on the last one, I think, and maybe not bright enough with the first… I have more details on the step-by-step on my project, though.

@crazyredcoat you could paint each squad with a different shade of red.
Once done you can either drive them button counters crazy by casually pointing to just the correct shade of red to use … 😉

Not much hobby done, but I did read the ‘dead or alive’ mini expansion for Stargrave.
If the planned solo focused expansions are even half as cool then it’s going to be the one game to bind them all.
You could create the Mandalorian and his crew and go bounty hunting in the Starwars universe 😀

@limburger I’ve known people who get upset about that kind of thing. 😛 I did once think about painting up a whole battalion where all the ORs had faded jackets and the officers had bright scarlet coats just to see if I could trigger someone. 😛

Another weekend rolls around and once again my minis failed to paint themselves, just as my back garden gate failed to re-hang itself, while I sat in the sunshine on a swing chair reading yet another trashy three-for-a-fiver-at-the-Works crime novel. That said, I’ve had a lovely weekend, swinging in the sunshine, reading trashy crime novels with little more to worry about than when to get up and make a brew.

• Have you seen any of the Stargrave videos? I did watch a few. But then went outside in the sunshine to sit and read…. you get the idea
• Do you play Stargrave? I’ve never played it but from some of the vids I’ve seen, it looks quite interesting.
• Will you join me in the fight on AMG for Star Wars: Epic Legion? I think I’ll sit this one out. The sun is shining and I’ve a pile of trashy crime novels to get through…..

Not sure what I want to move on to next. I have a Space Wolf Primaris hero that I got from…somewhere…that I could paint up in some fun colours, or I could do another mini from my Game of Thrans chaps. Don’t have the paint or energy to do a whole unit, but I think I have enough colours for a Stark banner or unit leader mini. I also discovered that Alestorm released two new singles of them singing shanties (probably because they’re bored…) and they’re pretty catchy, so I thought I’d share. Hopefully they are available in all the right places…

My hobby-shopping days have come to a grinding halt. Literally. Today my car decided it would be a great thing to lock up the break on the front axle driver side. Which then lead to those parts overheat. Now I need a new break saddle, disc and pads.

Flocking 890€ up in smoke.

I am a wee it annoyed and angry… frecking cars… *sigh*

I kind of figured they wouldn’t be… Youtube is getting a bit ridiculous with it’s region controls, if you ask me…

Car stuff always sucks. I’m going to have to change my tyres over soon because they’re getting a bit worn, so that will be a massive drain. Even a chip I got on my windshield a few years ago cost me about $300 and that was because my insurance would only cover $500 of the cost. I hate insurance companies… No need to apologise for the French, @sundancer.

I decided I’d paint one of my Neutral heroes for my Game of Thrans, so I’ll be working on Vargo Hoat on and off for a bit. We’ll see how far I get. Not feeling particularly productive at the moment.

Yes it’s Friday.

No there is no new thread.

Why? Read on but be warned it’s slight rant.

Reasons:

• Current threads barely make it over two pages. I see little use in making a new thread
• My hobby is currently at an all time low (more on that later) only uHH is ongoing.
• My back is killing me and I’m not really in the mood for anything (more on that also later)

And to top it all off my mechanic called me and the bill is now 1.500€. Basically because the car is now 14 years old and VW decided to mix metal and aluminium parts to save on weight, the whole left side wheel assembly is busted beyond repair and has to be partially cut from the car. And the new parts will not arrive before Monday.

So here I am. 1.500€ less in the bank at the start of the month, pain in the back which always makes me very angry and bad tempered, no car for the next 4 days and flock all incentive to do *anything* hobby related.

I’m really in the mood to burn something. I’m basically having a *very* bad day. A real bad one.
