    @ninjilly ska makes for the best earworms. And if it’s a late-90s ska band with big loud guitars, and a pop-punk sound, all the better!

    So, now that my mystery box from the stream auction is here I have to say: well… should have guessed as much.

    So here is what I found (after resorting the double boxes)

    1. Victory at sea – Battle for the pacific (Mogami missing turret sprue)
    2. Victory at sea – Battle for the pacific(Missing: Mogami, all Japanese capital ship turret sprues, USS Indianapolis, 3 bridges Fletcher-class Destroyer. One extra USS Northampton)
    3. Kings of War Armada – Basilean Booster Fleet (complete)
    4. Kings of War Armada – Basilean Booster Fleet (Elohi slightly damaged, galleon figure missing)
    5. Terrain Crate – Dungeon Essentials Set (missing: well, throne, tomb, reading desk, weapons rack, bookshelves)
    6. Terrain Crate – Industrial Zone (hard to tell, looks almost complete)
    7. D&D Collector’s Series – Adult Red Dragon (missing wings)

    So I’ve got a good Basilean Booster Fleet to flip, random terrain and some stuff for trades or salvage. But the missing wings on the Dragon are really annoying. I’ll try to get some kind of replacement wings. If I’m lucky I find a cheap toy dragon that I could make work on it. But that could take some time.

    @limburger No one should compare themselves or their games to Critical Role, same as most wargamers shouldn’t compare themselves to Giraldez etc. I get what you mean though. I only became a GM because it was the only way to get a game given my old work pattern. Now I enjoy it but it’s not the most fun part of the hobby for me.

    @blinky465 always!

    (best comment award goes to the top one on this video “The lyrics “Getting older all the time / feeling younger in my mind” sure hit different 20 years later”)

    and an homage:

    @sundancer this was 50 euros, right? Bummer that there is so much missing, especially from the terrain crates.

    @ninjilly – wow, those bring back some memories! Great choices. One of the first times I went to Berlin my brother-in-law had us booked to play a gig in a grungy nighclub the day after I arrived. We were on at 2am and played through until just before 4am. We finished with (our version of) Goldfinger’s version of 99 Red Balloons (though none of us tried the tuck-jumps we did have an accordian player who nailed the main riff perfectly).

    Apparently it’s the “Berlin Anthem”. The whole place was bouncing. If it wasn’t the best gig I’ve played, it was definitely my favourite to date.

    @sundancer – there’s a reason why most of us give up on those market-stall pile-em-high carrier bags of cheap meat after a couple of visits; for the odd genuine bargain you *do* get, you end up with a load of scrag ends of horrible gristle that nobody really wants anyway. I tried a couple of “mystery minis” boxes (not just from Mantic, but they’re the ones that stick in mind) a while back, and gave up on them for the same reason.

    Still, you’ve probably added a few kilos of plastic to your unpainted-and-unlikely-to-ever-be pile.

    Enjoy 😉

    @ninjilly I know I shouldn’t compare, but at the same time there is no ‘contrast paint’ equivalent for playing RPG’s.
    Unless you consider Zombicide and similar games to be at that level (I can already hear people groaning that you don’t play RPG’s with minis 😉 ).

    @ninjilly yeah but all in all it’s still not bad. And if I can source some wings I’m fine 😉

    @blinky465 the worst thing is: the Industrial Zone kit is so modular, that I can’t decide on how to build it to make use of most of the tiles… I’m bad at kit bashing and such a “by the book” model builder XD

    @limburger oh yes there is…. Video Game RPGs. 😉 And Adventure Books. *g*

    @sundancer but that’s playing games with yourself … 😉
    and the vast majority are mere excuses to be a murder hobo. I think ‘The Witcher’ is the only series were you had to watch what you were saying and what you were doing.
