It’s Saturday night, first night of the Hardest Trophy in sports: the Stanley Cup playoffs are ON!

Go Jets! Or any other Canadian team, in order of my preference to win: Canadiens, Senators, Oilers, Leafs.

    Stanley cup ?

is this something for stanley knives ?

or are other tools involved ?

Not sure what sports Canadians do, so I’m assuming it’s tree cutting …

I think canadians watch some sort of ice dancing 🙂

I thought it was ice boxing between two teams of 6 …

Indeed it’s ballet on ice, with sticks and armour. 😆

On Sunday I was a 3D printer owner for 5 minutes. That’s how long passed between ordering it from amazon and cancelling when I decided it was not the right time to buy as I already have too much stuff to paint.

On Monday I shopped at Etsy… but I spent a lot less than I would have done on the 3D printer.

Edit: I replaced my avatar when it was knackered by the updates and it’s disappeared again and when I upload it still don’t work.

The visit to the War museum at Overloon was fun.

The ‘D-Day Experience’ was a bit silly (you walk from one themed diorama to the next … a bit like the intro to Saving Private Ryan).
They do try to build up the drama, but that drama just evaporates when the people in front casually walk to the next part.
Best bit was the fake ride in a landing craft …
Worst part was exiting that landing craft with all the speed of a turtle.

I also liked how they showed what WW2 was like from several points of view with semi-interactive movies, which included a someone who had joined the German army to fight the communists.

Anyways … I’ve seen a few tanks up close, which included two T-34’s, a Sherman and a Panther.

They also had a gigantic landing craft dating back to Vietnam, but the vast material was WW2 of course.

Churchill Mk V from the battle at Overloon :

And another British tank. I forgot the details, it was a unique beast.

Because of they’ll not metal ? They have a metal 3D printer now but i don’t think it’s fine enough to make game figures yet perhaps in 1to1 scale maybe soon ? Gerry 🤔👍
