    ### Start of shameless copy and paste ###

First time visitor to OTT? Then please introduce yourself in the New Member Thread and look around in the Project System. Then come back and read on…

    Introduce yourselves (New member thread)

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/

Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is the unofficial Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

No questions today! No Weekender today! Stay safe, drink respon… ah flock it! DRINK!

    See you lot in 2022

    Happy Friday New Year.

My pledge is to finish painting a nun then I’ve got two ogres and I’ll be ready to start (terrain permitting) the next chapter of my Rangers of Shadow Deep game.

Tonight, to try to keep myself awake to stay up until midnight, I plan on playing some solo board games such as Bag of Dungeon and Escape the Dark Castle.

Then tomorrow, I’ll be having a hobby hangout with my friends.

Hope the year 2022 is better for all than the last two years.

    Happy New Year!

I’ve got a good feeling about 2022. I’ve already printed a hoard of zombies at an entirely new scale! Yes, I’m joining @warzan and revisiting an idea I started myself a good many years back – 20mm wargaming! (actually, I’m not entirely sure of the actual scale, but it’s a modern day city game, so everything is scaled to fit with Matchbox cars – like Gaslands but post-zombie-apocalypse).

@danlee – that’s some very impressive painting! I think I’ll still be painting 32mm stuff for the display shelf (I much prefer painting the slightly larger scale) but I’m going to see how I get on with 20mm for actual gaming. Always paint your eyes at 32mm, screw it at 20mm, and get the quickshade warmed up!

    happy new year everyone 😀

after failing last years attempt at a sort of new years’ resolution I am back to standard : no resolution … just get on with doing hobby whenever I can.

I’ve started a private project last week to sort of collect my thoughts and progress.
Once I’ve got something to show I will make it public as it is a bit techy at the moment.
However because I am going to need feedback I will set it to public once I got some momentum going.

My resolution 2022 project has kicked off (https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1706063/). This is just the setup post – I haven’t completed anything yet.

Happy new year. No resolutions for me, just do hobby consistently and don’t buy into too many new game systems (Now, when’s Five Leagues From The Borderlands due out).

I don’t mind new games that are just a rulebook, especially if the system doesn’t care which minis you’re using.

Silver Bayonet is a bit tricky, because my collection doesn’t contain any napoleonic era minis and there are semi official sets to buy.

New rule books are the new shiny?

anything new is the new shiny …

I used to buy RPG books for things I didn’t play simply because I liked the bits that were in there.

Which reminds me that I need to watch that WW2 RPG adventure thing the OTT crew posted last week/year.
