Had there been any movement on the Secret Santa idea? I’m pretty sure I signed up for it, but I’m not sure what happens now.

Aw, man. That kind of sucks. Maybe the community isn’t such a community after all? Maybe it’s time to admit that Discord has killed the forums, and move on? Would be a shame. But it’s looked this way for a while now.

I don’t know. When I put this Santa thing up for debate in the green room the response was a bit more positive.

Everything else: I don’t know and currently I’m too tired (for other reasons) to debate about it. We all have been over this time and time again. All I know is: I’ll stick around, do my thing and see what will happen.

Sorry, “all spoons are spend” as some of my friends say. I’ll get myself another cup of brew and look at some shiny things 🙂

I’d be up for the secret Santa and expressed an interest in the green room thread. When the front stage thread came along it was a week or so before I remembered to sign up, by which point I couldn’t find the thread. It’s one of my bugbears with the forums – once a thread drops off the recent activity list on the right of the homepage I often can’t find them again.

either I really p*ssed some people off or currently users are just not in the mood for discussion.

I think the community is just in a quiet mood of late. Maybe people are busy with other stuff or Christmas. Even Discord is pretty quiet.

Maybe give people a reminder on the other thread. Sometimes people just need to be pushed or given a deadline.

I’ll stick around, do my thing and see what will happen.

I really appreciate what you do on here with the weekly threads and, indeed, the UHH. I look forward to posting every Friday, answering the questions and thinking up my pledge.

I personally prefer posting on the Forums. It’s easier to keep a running topic and refer back. I’m still not used to the conversational flow on Discord and I’ve been using it for over a year. It can sometimes be like joining a conversation late with a completely different topic.

Also @sundancer, are we going to see those Wookiees you built painted soon? ?

For some reason I’m already thinking it’s saturday tomorrow, but there’s at least one day of work ahead at this time.

Everything happens in cycles … we may just be on the downward side of the wheel, which isn’t that weird considering the time of the year and the event and all.

I’ve had very little time to do anything and when I had time I either didn’t feel like doing anything or I got distracted by videogames too …

It’s not the videogame itself, but the Gamepass system that has this sort of achievement thing that rewards silly points if you do stuff like ‘start a game’ or do a specific task within a game. These tasks change daily, weekly and monthly.
And even though I should know better … it works. I find myself starting up my xbox each day just to check off a few of those easy bits and possibly one or two of the weekly ones.

Maybe we need something like that in our hobby too ?
Something with some really really low key easy to do tasks (open your box of minis), a few harder ones (assemble 1 mini) and really tough ones (assemble, base, prime and paint a full squad) …

It might help break down the pile of opportunity into something that doesn’t feel like a big task.

Things like the slow grow league for Wild West Exodus and the ‘raise the black’ – challenge thread and of course the UHH pledge could feed into such a system as well.
