October 2, 2018 at 12:16 am #1278641@horati0nosebl0wer Someone roared ‘MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!’ in my face in a night club on halloween a few years back….
October 2, 2018 at 11:39 am #1278890October 3, 2018 at 10:09 pm #1279839GW has another killer video :
You got to be patient and wait for the final reveal near the end … but it’s worth it.
October 4, 2018 at 12:40 am #1279911Haha I loved that video. Gonna hit the hay soon and work on my Ork Warboss tomorrow. He shall be a pale ork.
October 7, 2018 at 6:05 am #1282036I’ve done a little building on my Ork fighter bomber . Really had a hard time getting started as all the weird and wonderful Orky bits you guys love are way out of my comfort zone . So I looked around for a real world plane that I could use as an inspiration . What I found was a single seat prop job that served in the late 50s through Viet Nam , the Douglas A-1 Skyraider . A sort of radial engine version of the jet engine tank buster , Warthog . This thing had in wing cannons and 15 under wing mounting points for bombs , rockets and gun pods . In fact this thing could carry 8000 pounds of destruction , the same load as some B-17 WW2 bombers
Here’s my Ork plane , guns are just placed in their mounts to get an idea how it could look . I also have a half dozen rockets and a couple of large bombs that might end up under the wings . As well , I could mount a twin gun turret behind the cock pit , so many choices ..
October 7, 2018 at 7:16 am #1282057Done with the basing and ran out of sealant in covering it. I’m wondering about the Testor’s Dullcote I picked up in the glass bottle rather than the rattle can I normally use. Using the airbrush for the sealant seems like a better deal as I can be more precise to get more coverage for my money but this project will be the first time doing it. Anybody have experience with clear coating with an airbrush?
@mage I see what you did there, sir. Be sure to keep an eye on the ammo clip that comes with the figure. I lost mine somewhere in my collection of stuff and have fashioned a new one from plastic and Milliput.
@a27cromwell Whenever I think orcs the Brewster F2A Bison pops into my head. It just seems like such a oddly shaped aircraft there is no way it couldn’t be a military grade orcraft.
October 7, 2018 at 5:07 pm #1282250@a27cromwell that Skyraider does look rather Orkish.
October 7, 2018 at 5:28 pm #1282264As a historical modeler I really have no idea how Orks would paint this thing . Would it be cammo greens adn browns with grey and black bombs , etc , real world colors . Or red wings , blue bombs , what ever colors they happened to beg , borrow or steal ? I’m thinking of a more realistic color scheme myself , with maybe a brighter color on the tail and bombs , any suggestions ?
October 7, 2018 at 8:32 pm #1282349red … ‘cuz red ones go faster … 😉
40k as a setting appears to be devoid of any sort of camouflage.
So despite the grim dark setting the armies are painted in neon glow ‘come at me bro’ colours.
October 7, 2018 at 10:07 pm #1282390@a27cromwell Pick an Ork Klan and go for it

Nothing too realistic, but keep it gritty on the metal and bright on the colour. Avoid camo but if you wanna check out Blood Axe Orks
October 8, 2018 at 6:01 am #1282539Sitting at work and still had the arm in the portable hobby kit. I also had just the right base for my latest figure purchase that is appropriate for Orctober. I will save that for next month as I will use it as my avatar for the boards.
@limburger I think the concept ‘come at me bro’ might be the other way around from orky thinking.
October 11, 2018 at 9:10 pm #1284948More Orky goodness revealed :
The new one is called : Rukkatrukk Squigbuggy
Every single one of them looks like an Orkified (sp?) hotrod.
I doubt they’re fun in a regular 40k game, but I can see their use in a special Orky racing game of def and more dakka. -
