flockin’ public transport deciding that they needed to do major maintenance on the railways on one of the busiest routes this week. The detour I need to take as a result pretty much doubles my time travel time to work. And I get to feel how sardines feel as a bonus. *grrr*
The only good thing is that I got to ride my trike again, which made me realise how much I missed riding it.

Net result has been about zero hobby time for me so far …  🙁

anyways … happy thoughts, need happy thoughts.

@mage I think proper minion army would use the Gloomspite gitz or a similar faction as their list.
Dwarves and Skaven lack that impish evilness and total lack of sanity that the gitz have in spades.
I wish someone made actual minion models, but I doubt that’ll ever happen …

@crazyredcoat that ancient looks really good.

@horati0nosebl0wer ‘Guild of Dungeoneering’ is an excellent game.

And staying with the ‘not 4k’ theme there’s the Banner Saga series. The art is absolutely fantastic as it mimics the classic animated style when these things were handdrawn instead of computer animated.  It’s got vikings, mythology, story and a tricky turn based combat system/puzzle to master.

    The Banner Saga

    (there’s a version for the Switch too … )

Almost finished a Sergeant after work and made nice progress on the seven other marines. I’m trying to get them done for Friday but finishing them will most likely be this weekends pledge

This thread will be over 5pm tomorrow

@mage The skin came out not as well as I imagined but it is a learning experience and after the gloss coat it sealed well enough. Airbrush work to try and get the right breaking for a dapple was not successful so I did a bit of stippling with a brush and played more with the dry pigments. They definitely worked better than I anticipated. I’m thinking that I’ll do the same kind of approach for the next horse that I paint. Before you hit up painting Charcharadons get yourself some 3D printed chapter emblems to add to the pauldrons. You may go in for squad marking afterwards but the chapters I’ve seen are quite good. I enjoy seeing all the minis for other people but its rather daunting to consider the numbers with regard to my own finished work. Geez.

Nice to see the upcoming projetcs. There is quite a bit of weathering that can be done to all of that.

@dawfydd I’m saying nuts to the company I’m working for now. I just interviewed with another that might be long hours like that but its definitely better socializing and the work environment is a hell of a lot better with regard to personalities. I think that dealing with explosives and listening to heavy metal for long hours might well be a good career change.

I think that there are too many Space Wolves in the way to see a collection of Infinity… then again after a few posts you might.

@woldenspoons I think that the sculpts for boardgames in general have benefitted from the advances in computer technology. With 3D sculpting, printing and the casting games like yours have benefitted quite a bit.

@sundancer Lol… the first thing I thought when I saw the tank was California car culture and somebody busting out with with a Mexican accent “Ey guy, (pronounced like whey), mi primo Chewie has something like that too that he just moved with”.

@crazyredcoat Crazy subassemblies tend to work for parts that end up being a pain in the posterior if not done otherwise. There isn’t anything odd about that in my book. As you pointed out the image isn’t the best but it will be quite stunning. I’m impressed with the blending and how well the edge highlight pops. Its most noticeable on the banner.

@limburger Sardine sentiments… you mean all slick and oiled against each other? Seems a little fishy to me. As far as happy thoughts, you always can come back here, vent and get hobbying support. We love you buddy.. enough to give you hell at levels to question why you do it and keep coming back…. Lol. The Banner Saga looks pretty good. I might have to pick it up. I’ll need to keep digging for more low rez requiring goodness but off to work I go overnight (Blah!).

Some musical addition of my own…

    Game inspired stuff

Space rock for letting your head wander for a few hours

How to have big bass and avoid violating the Pub Rules

Aaaaand something more relevant to our hobbying

It sucks when we plan something and it doesent come out how we want it. Glad you could course correct with the skin and are happier with it now.

    Speaking of Charchaodons:

Ill check out Shapeways or something, for the shoulder pads

Regarding feeling daunted its all about your own pace, enjoyment and such. If some people bang out a lot of models, that is their pace. If you fell, and you should not, bad for not doing something comparable, bare in mind that that mindset will only make the hobby feel like a job. Don’t let stuff like that make you feel inadequate. Revel in what you do!

Im not sure where to go or what to do with the Mecha in the building tbh

I cant say Im in love with public transport to be honest. 10 points for feedback to others. I keep hearing good things about Banner Saga.

    @dawfydd

Im tempted to finish early. Not quite on par with you but my sinuses are killing me today. Im feeling better after breakgast and some sudafed. I am taking tomorrow night off for a date/movie and a gig Saturday so that might be frivolous use of leave.

@dawfydd that is a cool re-imagining of that scene. It makes both fighters at least use some of the skills they had in the prequels.

I do wish SW fight choreography didn’t try to pretend it was medieval sword fights with fancy effects.

This video makes a couple of very interesting points regarding how these weapons would affect combat style :

Positive waves for everyone … 😀

@mage public transport isn’t so bad around here though. It’s one more day of this and then things should be back to normal.

@ everyone who isn’t feeling on top of the world : Get well soon 🙂

Maybe all you need is a good cup of tea ?

Speaking of tea … this might be what we need :

    @horati0nosebl0wer *yuck* don’t remind me …
