@mage and @grumpygraeme The knitting is going to represent fields on the tabletop or it is a experiment to see how well it would look.  I don’t have the same room to store things, so just trying to come up with ideas for scenery.

@mage it is pasta.  Cheaper than greenstuff and already made.  There is loads of stuff out there to make scenery from but they have been rather forgotten for reasons I could go on about for ages but this isn’t the place.  Though a big reason is things are a lot more affordable so saving your cereal boxes isn’t worth it as much.

Ok, awake when I’m not supposed to be and I decided to airbrush some gloss coat on my minis for the Spring Clean after getting the horse done. I’m going to try and get back to sleep to be on normal people operating schedule.

@grumpygraeme I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s getting the same musical feeds from youTube. RetroNewWave hase been very good to me. I’ve also been stuck on Seikomart on bandcamp (I thoroughly recommend New Coke)

@robert My first thought when I saw the pasta terrain was a line from The Tick and replacing The Tick with @sundancer

@mage Nice to see the progress on the Minotaurs. Quite a bit of time and effort to paint up. Then again youmare very busy so it makes the going slow.

@dawfydd I’ve gone through the Bag o’ Crap that I bought from Secret Weapon a while ago and I think I have some that might be relevant to your present hobbying in 30/40mm. I have a few of theinr runic bases that would work for your Space Wolves but they seem a bit off for scale since GW went to 32mm.

@sundancer A shiny new uniformed leader. Very nice

@limburger Minions made me happy to watch as I deal with my screwed up sleep schedule

I might well just say nuts to it all and become a monkey, living the good life naked and free in the nearest tree

Sorry, I’ve been ‘busy’ ‘testing’ Hellboy so haven’t posted much. I have to say, I’ve played the easy tutorial mission 4 times and list them all. Yet keep going back. It’s that good.

Played an alternative mission and it was totally different in feel including the confrontation. I am so impressed. Can I give up work to play this?

I got some base coating done and will post pics tomorrow. May possibly assemble my Holiday Hellboy so I can try the 4x Hellboy team ?. Music.

Done with the horse skin and some more on the Spring Clean. Sleep now. More work on it and I’ll soon have it done. I’m really pleased to finally get some paint on this figure.

@mage : those unique helmets look really cool.

I do think one of your attempts at replacing the flight stands makes it look like he lost balance trying to land on that pole and is about to fall.
The other marine looks much better.

Minions are probably the best thing to ever happen. Sooo funny and cute with awesome destructive potential *grin*
I’d love to see a Minion sequel.

    @horati0nosebl0wer

Happy happy joy joy *grin* the insanity of that series.

Angry beavers is slightly less insane, but equally funny.

It’s got that “I can’t believe they got that crap past the radar” feel

I know we’re not supposed to mention politics, but I got to mention this awesome introduction for a Polish EU candidate :

I don’t understand anything of what is said so I’m not sure if he is a good guy.

Anyone into minimalistic games and platformers ought to check out Neon Beats on Steam (it’s free and short):

Who needs 4K resolution and millions of colours, right ? 😉

@mage LOVE the cursed founding chapters!!! Such a interesting and unusual take on the space marines! I have been very tempted to try out a Charcharadons force of primaris marines. Their lore and background is really cool too! A raven Guard successor that really stems from the time when Corax took over the legion in the Great Crusade! He didn’t like what some of the old legion were getting up to so he sent the troublemakers off on a “crusade” all on their lonesome. Their  are some incredible paint jobs of them online that show HUGE amounts of character!

@horati0nosebl0wer Haha! I am glad its not just me that’s into the synth too! Will have to check out your suggestions!!

@robert cool idea about the knitting! I read your project just after I asked about it here! I should have spent more time looking! haha! Never knitted anything. My mother in law knits TONNES of stuff for my kids and she always chooses the most horrific colours!

Will get some pics posted tomorrow of my goblins. Got them primed and zenithed so that’s a start! Will post some pics of my Sci fi warband that I’m not sure what to do with, colour scheme wise, so I could get some advice!

Should probably listen to this as I paint my goblins:

Was never that taken with any of the GW books, they are ok but nothing special with the exception of Iron snakes by Dan Abnett, a quality book of short tales following a squad of marines. An unusual take on the Astartes. Some of the old ones are good to read to just see the difference between how things are portrayed now and how they were back in the oldhammer/ middlehammer days. The Inquisition War was one like that, Shape shifting assassins (into genestealers no less!!!!) and space marines using toilet humour (I think it was in that one anyway!!).

Oh man its back to work tomorrow after a month of paternity leave! Think I am going to struggle!!!

Hopefully, I can work these images. Sometimes I really do feel like an old man… (I’m not that old…just feel like it sometimes) Here’s how I did my Inceptors. Two of them are aimed to be ‘taking off’ by leaping forward, and the third is jumping backwards as he guns down an opponent before flying up, up, and away!

    20190506_171257[1]

Honestly, the Inceptors are not may favourite of the new Primaris range, but they look particularly odd without their jump packs…which you may be able to spot in the distance. Also, as a disclaimer, I did not do these this weekend. Except that Hellblaster right in the back right corner. 😛 Hopefully tonight I can get more built, but I need to catch up on Game of Thrones, too, tonight. If anyone is interested, I can show off some of the painted stuff better, but they are not ‘recent’ work; they are a month or more old. 😛

@mage Steel Phalanx is Aleph’s mailed fist, the force built to engage the Combined Army toe-to-toe and inspire the nations of the Human Sphere to say that the EI can be  resisted. Personally as a bit of myth & legend nut I love how they’ve incorporated the heroes of the Trojan War. I do rather hope we get some more named Homeride though – Paris and Odysseus  are surely no-brainers (and of course will have to look like Orlando Bloom & Sean Bean), but given we now have Perseus the Rogue Myrmidon, I wonder is there scope for an Aleph twist on Jason and the Argonaughts? Perhaps that is the ASS’s Heavy Infantry unit that gets the same armour as Achilles 2.0 & Hector? And yeah, I did pick up a fair bit of Combined a few years ago that I must get painted up:

Still quite proud of how this Umbra came out….

    2017-01-14 15.59.06

(I was trying for a bit of a Clone Wars Jedi-vibe. The CA range looks so sinister I’m really intrigued to see if I can make them look heroic)

And I was having a root around as someone in another forum mentioned how my Knights did look a tad plain with with those big blocks of colour but no insignia, so dug up my bag of GW decals. I’ve got the two Knight sheets that came in the Renegade boxed game, but I’d forgotten some of these other sheets:

Some of these  could be useful  for adding flavourful battle honours to the Knights of House Mortan….
