Definitely the one on the right for me, it has a powdery feel more than the other two.

Totally forgot to show the pictures:

in the end I used all of them but you probably cant see the Army Painter one, I thought that one might llok good in the “cracks” and recesses of the mountain but I did not. I think it cna look good but it needs a big surface for that, so most of it got covered with AKs snow.
And yes the back should have more snow considering the amount of snow on the rest of the mini but I dont care 😉 I like him the way he is.

And this little happy guys is my newest project:

The only thing missing besides the base is the trousers/tartarn, I just have no idea how to paint them.

I used this poisonous frog as inspiration:

I’m thinking about putting the black dots on the little guy, what is your opinion about that?
And yes I know he can’t hit anything the way he lloks, but it’s after the shot 😉 No I think it looks nice if you look from top down on him, but I could change it.

I think the snow has worked out quite well and i think it’s fine that there’s less on the back. Snow can fall off.

Hello everyone, I need a bit of help/advice with my Votann

When I first saw their helmets they reminded me of the NASA space  helmets so I wanted to paint them that way. Then I wanted to test some of the new Contrast paints so I bought the blue and purple ones.

Then I used all these for my colour scheme.

So here they are, as this is a tets I only used base colours so no shading or highlighting. Sure the blue of the trousers, the purple of the armour and the brown of the little bags are Contrast colours so they have a bit shading andhighlighting giong on.

I really like the blue, purple nad gold. I’m not so sure on the grey for the gloves and knee and arm pads. In GW’s own colour schmes they use one colour for all those parts, so I did the same. First I thought about red but I think red pads would look bad.
Now I’m thinking maybe I should paint the gloves red? The next question would be what to do with the chest light, standard yellow as most lights or blue or even a green colour?

Then there is the question about the rivets on the armour. Purple, or a metall colour, maybe the copper from the backpack or a more normal steel colour?

And last but not least we got the weapons, I always paint the black, but I thought why not use a differnet colour than alsway black, the question is though would this work here? Maybe a red or a dark grey?

What do you guys think, any ideas or would you change anything else?

Nice paintjob. Unless you want them as display models I personally wouldn’t worry about rivets. But I am lazy 😉

Thanks, and no they are gaming pieces. While I’m not necessarily lazy I’m a slow painter so not worrying about the rivets would help me too ?

So someone in another forum suggested to replace the gray with black.
So i did that, though I mixed a black with water and Contrast Medium to make a shade so it would look like the black ist already highlighted. I probably used to much black here but it is a bit visible. Have to be more careful for the next guy nad the rest of the squad. The grey tubes will also be blackened.

The gun is nor the same colour as the armour and the metall is normal steel colour, the thing that holds the ammunition was painted with Warplock Bronze.
The gold, bronze and copper  was then sahded with Agrax and the normal steel was shaded with Nuln and Agrax. The gold then was layered up again. The metall does look a bit dirty now but that is fine, I wanted to try chipping on these guys.

The only thing missing now is the chest lamp, which you can’t really see on this guuy anyway. So I have to think about a colour for that and I’m still unsure if the plasma blades should be red like GW does them or maybe blue.
After that it’s time for some highlighting and trying to do some chipping.
