The sad thing is that if they hadn’t abused that deus ex machine in the previous movie there’d be no need to bring her back from the dead in this one …

I suppose Lando is only in this one to give an excuse for Chewy ?

    Oh … and there’s this :

I think 90% of the problems in the new trilogy are the result of Rey gaining her powers far too easily.

Compared to Luke (who barely won his final fight) and even Anakin she hasn’t had to suffer.

To answer all the people questioning why Carrie is in Episode 9 watch the panel, and the director who I will name is Rian Johnson 😛

I won’t touch anything to do with Rian Johnson with a ten foot barge pole after the last jedi

it gave me a new found appreciation for the prequel trilogy

@grimwolfuk : given that she was alive at the end of the last Star Wars it makes sense that she could be in it.

What I really want to know is :

Are we going to see more attempts to use hyperspace jumping as the new a super weapon ?

The sad news is that the flockin’ Lego series had a much better superweapon (and story arc) : the arrowhead.

@limburger wasn’t that taken from one of the books?

@sundancer : I don’t know. I’ve never read any of the books, so my knowledge is based on Google, bits of the Legoseries and the two cartoon series (Clonewars and Rebels).

Both Clonewars and Rebels had episodes with more depth than any movie since ‘Return of the Jedi’.
I don’t know how the lego series is supposed to fit in with the canon … so I suspect it is an alt universe/timeline.

@limburger ah, I got it wrong. I was thinking about the “Sun Crusher”

@limburger based on what you said about that superweapon in Lego series it does sound like it could had been Suncrusher from some of worst SW novels that I have ever read. Suncrusher was basically this arrowhead shaped ship that can destroy stars and easily withstand resulting supernova. Then again SW EU has so many superweapons because those are so easy to use as way to create conflict and most writers were clearly too lazy to figure out something else.

@mecha82 : sounds like killing the extended universe was a good thing …

Too bad the new movies aren’t exactly building confidence that they’ve been replaced by competent writers.

I enjoyed the Starkiller books. Also laughter at the end was clearly The Joker. Just give me a second while I geek over what an awesome mash up that would be….
