True story: Jimmy Savile is buried at a 45 degree angle (and on a hillside) so he can “…overlook his beloved Scarborough.” Scarborough is known as the nonces holiday resort. At this time of year it is hoaching with them. They also entombed Sir Jimmy in concrete. It was supposed to be to prevent anyone digging him up to steal his gold jewellery, but I think they knew the truth about him.

    Anyway…

That is another three layers of WW2 Russian Uniform green. Time for a little drying before some washing. It is difficult to do anything else as Lola has gone to sleep on my lap and I am stuck! It is nearly time for her “walkies” before bed. Mollie went with Eve to see her granny. You can’t take two of them as they go wild.

I have been scoping a Mercenary TAG on Ebay too…tempting. Very tempting.

A few little bits to correct before I go much further. I am a really slow painter. However, the caution does not produce better results, just steadier ones!

…Lola says, “HELLO!” too. If you visit and are off before I get back then sleep tight. Have fun tomorrow.

@unclejimmy off to a good start! That would have been my choice for getting something done.

Nothing I could contribute in terms of badges or caps or shirts would be remotely presentable on here… we’ll talk offline.

Back to toy soldiers! I’m being harassed by a pair of rambunctious youngsters: Scipio

And Eve. As I mentioned, we named her ‘Eve’ as she had a habit of sleeping in the eve’s troughs. The other choice was ‘Gutter.’ Didn’t have the same ring to it.

@ceppie – those kitties are delicious! They look like a pair of bad cats too. 100pts. Cats rule. Since Lola has had her cone removed she is more like her old self. She went radio-rental just now and is now passed out on the cold wooden floor.

The End is one of those songs that you never know where it will take you. Nico does a killer version. 500pts.

Heather is out with her mum tomorrow which means I am free until 2000hrs…at least. Who knows what might happen. I might even sent the ‘others’ a C&D. Jamie said he would write one for me. What do you think?

Logos might not be your thing, but we need words too. I can get 78 assorted t-shirts/hoodies with a logo for a reasonable price. They have a machine that embroiders patches. They also distribute them on a custom basis if you are a customer. We need mugs and nametags too.

In return you can listen to this:

That version of ‘Hey Joe’ is amazing.

Good morning everyone, how are you today? I have a few chores to do and I need to get some kitchen roll before I do anything else. The urge for a can of freezing cold Vimto is also upon me!

There was a dyslexic rockstar that choked on his own vimto. True story. After that I am all yours…Heather is off out too.

    Still hot. Check this out:

    Good Morning All!

I’ve got a drone to build, and then the stealth suits are done. I’ll post a pic when they’re finished.

First things first: off to visit my older brother, who just had a hole in his heart stitched up. Sucks to be him right now! Some coffee and fat pills should cheer him up… until he can safely drink hard liquor.

@unclejimmy I think the C&D can wait. We’re back, more or less where we were. Save it for a rainy day.

Hmmm… prefer The Doors version of The End.

What do you get when you cross a dyslexic and an agnostic? A guy who lies awake at night wondering if there really is a dog. Bu-dum-bum.

Spirited Energy was an idiotic ad campaign trundled out a few years ago to promote Manitoba. Naturally it got bastardized in any number of ways before the province dropped it. WTF is spirited energy anyway?

@oriskany I will definitely get to some of your podcasts today! I took today and tomorrow off to get caught up on all things hobby!

A little music to get into the theme of the day.

    Back soon everyone!

Cheers for the kind words on the Terminators guys, have to say I love the feeling of finishing a squad I know will now be seeing play for years to come.

I made an early start into  the Riddler and just got some thin basecoats down. The green so far is just thinned Caliban Green. usually I start with a mid-tone and paint in the shadows but I was afraid if i put it on straight over the pre-shade it would wash it out and make it look very pastel. Nothing kills vibrancy like white. A couple of other colours have been put in, just to give me an idea where I’m going. It’s been a while since I dealt with a metal mini from Knight models so it’s a bit of an adjustment back to their casting. I still can’t understand their inability to do chins and fingers properly.

I’ll add in more Caliban Green/Abaddon Black to the recesses to really darken it down and then start building up the lighter shades.

I’ve to meet a friend for lunch soon but I’ll do more on him when I get back. Then later tonight my housemate and I are going to take a look at U-Boot. We set it up last night so we’re ready to go. Looks awesomely detailed.

I’ll get back on later with an update on the Riddler.

Unscheduled update as the postman has just delivered some RPG goodness! ‘Enemies of the Imperium’ was the last book I needed for ‘Only War’ so I’m really pleased to finally have it. The Atlas Compendium is full of loads of useful stuff for Coriolis so I can get using it right away.

I’m back. My brother is doing well, better than expected actually

@irredeemable What? What kind of game is that? Totally intrigued. Will you do a battle report.

Brilliant work on the joker! Looks more finished than started. 🙂

@oriskany Great intro to the Vietnam War. Blown away that South Korea contributed 300,000 troops. Never heard that before. How were they deployed? In large national formations, or as a backbone for ARVN forces?

Haven’t visited my Vietnam SPMBT Vietnam campaign for a while, but may rethink some of my battlegroup forces. Thus far I’ve gone with three airmobile companies with gobs of fire support and LRRP recon, and a mech company, also supported with all kinds of Gucci atts and dets. It was never enough to hold everything as I went hopping from objective to objective, nor was it enough to cover everything on the defensive, so I may try to add some ‘cheap’ troops to the mix, but only to consolidate objectives that have already been carpet bombed and cleared by the airmobile companies.

On the defensive I would use said troops as shock absorbers, to let me know where the schwerpunkt is, and to delay (while becoming completely unglued of course) until heliborne regulars arrive. Did you ever get to play the campaign I set up for you?

    Another great Vietnam set:
