KEEPING THIS ON THE NEWEST PAGE:

Just a quick note to say that EPISODE 06 of the OPS CENTER drops tomorrow!

We continue our expanded coverage of the Falklands War (this will now be four parts instead of three).

We’ll be focusing on the air operations over the Falklands.  The video will be available on OnTableTop, YouTube, and Podbean.

Hope to see some of you there!

Okay, the stage is set for our first play-test of Naval Command by Rory Crabb.  I’ll be playing live against @elessar2590 tonight at 4PM US Eastern Time, 9PM UK time.  If all goes well, the game will be streamed live on the Sitrep Podcast Twitch channel as well, so swing  by and check us out!  See if the British can repeat their success, or if the Argentinians will repel (or at least critically damage) the initial British landings on the Falklands!

    Sitrep Twitch Channel

Our 6′ x 4′ (72 x 48 nautical miles) table for NAVAL COMMAND system. The British are trying to get the LPD assault ships HMS Fearless and HMS Intrepid into the San Carlos Channel (southwest – objectives marked with red target icons)  off of Falkland Sound, where the initial historical landings took place. Argentinians have Pucara strike aircraft based on the damaged Port Stanley airport (southeast), with lots more aircraft on their distant mainland bases almost 400 nm to the west (but I have to roll to see if they arrive, and they can only operate for one turn on the table). We’re also giving the Argentinians a little buff here, putting a few warships in these waters when historically they had been withdrawn to port after the sinking of ARA Belgrano (2 May, 1982).  Red and blue rectangles indicate initial deployment zones.

Apologies for the double post, but these forum threads don’t seem to be cycling up to the top of the running order when I post the first time.  (?)

No worries – I hope to see some of you in today’s live stream. FULL DISCLOSURE – this will be a raw playtest, I’m not 100% familiar or even 100% sold on this game system yet.  I suppose @elessar2590 and I will be finding out if this works for a Falklands recreation.  😀

We had a great live stream last night, where we looked at a different angle of “creating armies” and playing pieces in a different kind of wargame.  The first two samples were completed on stream, for use in new Valor & Victory expansions in the Falklands.  Check out our Twitch Channel to see how its done!

Two new Video Battle Recordings are up on Sitrep’s YouTube Channel.  See what happens when @rasmus and I face off in a game of Valor & Victory: Lebanon 1982.

We have AFV overruns, RPGs, Israeli Cobra gunships, PLO technicals mounted with twin 23mm autocannon … and some of the worst tabletop gameplay in the history of the business.  😀 😀 😀

I actually really enjoyed the photoshop stream.  A little bit of prep work, patience, and working layers and you can create almost anything for a game.

I’ll have to watch that one tonight!

I was out last night cruising with the top down and enjoying the weather.

Thanks @gladesrunner , @templar007 and @stvitusdancern – apologies for the bad audio (first Photoshop stream you could hear the PC fan blowing very hard) – that was the wrong mike selected (internal mic is right beside the laptop cooling fan) – second stream was a little better but again I had cooling issues, I think my scaled export resolution was too high in OBS, I have dumbed it down to 1280p and seem to be streaming with fewer issues.

I feel like every stream I encounter and resolve a new technical issue.  I just hope I’m inching toward a place where I actually have some idea what I’m doing.

Hope you like the Valor & Victory videos, @rasmus !  Just a few highlights.  That Zelda overrun and the PLO sniper just had to be saved and presented for posterity somewhere!

In other news – had an absolute EPIC game of Panzer Leader with @brucelea today.  Panzer Leader, 1943, Eastern Front, I swear it was like wrapping myself in an old security blanket.  A heavily asymmetrical, mission-based game that came down to the LAST FRIGGIN’ DIE ROLL!   I swear that was the best wargame I’ve played since, well … the seven-hour Golan Heights game in 1973 that @damon won by one friggin’ point!  😀 😀 😀

Have I mentioned I love the Panzer Leader system?  Almost fifty friggin’ years old now and still the KING OF GAMES!

Starting the creation process of getting a East German Team Yankee force in 6mm. Everything is going to be 3d printed so far i may invest in buying some actual infantry for it FDM printers are not great for them. BMP-1’s are printing and SU-25’s are finished and ready to go.

Full list being built below also will be a project once most of the units are at least printed out

@bloodstrike Nice idea. How economical in both financial and time terms is 3D printing the stuff over buying from GHQ/Heroics and Ros
