Scoop – more infos on Warlord Dredd game and release date

Since nobody seems to read the other stuff, here are some updates on the new Dredd game:

The game’s name will be ‘Judge Dredd – I am the Law’, and it will come out 26th November. There’s even a little pack with three minis for a small price to “preview”.

The decal sheet will be pretty useful for even non-Dread fans.

One thing I want to know is if the Fatties are going to be in Warlord resin.  While metal is the best music and material for models, these ones might be a wee bit better in a lighter material!

Something I was chatting about on Saturday as well, and the success of the game will depend on it, is there enough people who want to play anything other than judges out there?  (models will sell, but will people play!)

Afaik all minis of the Dredd range will be resin.

Since Warlord is really, really bad at marketing, there’s no saying if the game will be played, if there is a campaign system, how that campaign system encourages play of anything but Judges and so on.

Maybe someone who has the Strontium Dogs rules could chime in and tell us how it’s there, the systems are supposed to be close.

At least its Andy Chambers writing the rules.. so prolly wont need a 6 page FAQ the day after release just to be playable. But, it is Warlord…

Makes me very interested in the Stronty Dog game now.. no one in America has any idea who Johnny Alpha is, but we all know Judge Dredd!

Rules are going to be a modified version of the Strontium Dog set (so expect 2-3 “Judges” vs a half dozen goons and LOTS of cards)

You know it’s kind of nice to see a game like this come out WITHOUT the aid of Kickstarter. No mad panic, no need to buy EVERYTHING because of FOMO (Fear Of Missing OUT). Instead you can buy a starter box and see if you like it knowing that you can purchase more six months down the line.

It’s all rather relaxing (just like a hobby should be 😀 )

Interesting read, some new pics.

This one shows gangers in front of the mdf scenery that was in the Strontium Dogs starter box. I wonder if they will put the same in the Dredd starter box, or if they put in something else. Their mdf partner is Sarissa, btw.
